You could start out at Harrison school, where the eighth grade class is sponsoring their Spaghetti dinner to help defray expenses of graduation festivities, such as a trip to Starved Rock and a bowling-pizza party. They will be serving from 5-8 p.m. You could then head over to the west side of Wonder Lake to Greenwood school, where the CTO will be sponsoring its Spaghetti dinner from 5:30-7:30 p.m. In addition to the dinner, they will also be having a cake walk, Philadelphia pretzels, and a button machine. Mary Raber, CTO President says, "The main purpose of this dinner is to raise funds for the children's programs during the 1979-80 school year. Because of the profit made on past spaghetti dinners, the children have enjoyed a variety of puppet shows, live plays, and paintings in the school." Either dinner that you at tend, you are assured a good tasting experience and the feeling of helping out a worthy cause. YOUNG AT HEARTS The Young at Hearts met a week later than usual because the hall had to be used for a dinner the previous week. Plans were discussed for their fifteenth anniversary dinner, which will be held April. 18, at the Old Mill Inn of Wonder Lake. The club welcomed back Mr. and Mrs. Hiller, who have been vacationing in some of the warmer climates. Several of the club members who are celebrating April birthdays were given special recognition. They are Marion Draffkom, Alphild Wallberg, Jake Barthuly, June Tepper, and Ed Dolan. Everyone enjoyed the desserts supplied by the cake committee consisting of Marie Barthuly, Helen Sullivan, and Elenora Willig. . SPECIAL DAYS Three Wonder Lake young people got to celebrate bir thdays over Easter vacation. John Crawford and Jeremy Thomas celebrated together with an overnight party with some of their friends at John's home on April 13. The next morning they all enjoyed searching for hidden eggs in an Easter egg hunt. Geri Lynn Fugera celebrated her seventh birthday on April 13, and even though it was Friday the thirteenth, I'm sure only good things could happen to such a cute little girl. HURRICANE HAPPENING For those of us who have attended Hurricane Happening in the past couple of years, it is something we look forward to from one year to the next. This year the dates are April 20, 21, 27 and 28. Many Wonder Lake people take an active part in the planning, preparation, and actual working the nights of the Happening. There is something for everyone to enjoy from shows, to dancing, to sing-a-longs, to good food. This year the theme is "Fantasy Island", which it will be for all those who attend. BOYCOTT Six ladies from the west side of Wonder Lake have decided to take an active part in a boycott of a particular product. The Infant Formula Action Coalition is objecting to the sale of formula to foreign countries such as Asia, Africa, and the Latin American countries. If you are interested in taking an active part, you could either write the Newman Center, Infant Formula Action Coalition, 1701 University avenue, S.E., Minneapolis, Minn., 55414 or call Mrs. Parquette at 728-0082.
