Curt McCormick, who for the past eight years has been a pro at courses in Northbrook, has brought to the Johnsburg course instant replay video tape to golf lessons. "It's just a super teaching aide for student as well as teacher," explained Mc Cormick, when describing the video tape system. "When a person can see his mistakes it makes it easier to realize them and correct them." This will be McCormick's third year using the video tape system in his lessons and the first year they will be offered at Chapel Hill, the only area course featuring the instant replay in lessons. "Everyone likes to see their own swing," reported the 17- year PGA member. "The video tape is included in a regular lesson." McCormick has been a member of the PGA for twelve years after serving five years as an apprentice. He has spent the last ten years teaching golf. "I've easily given over 100,000 lessons," he said. "I've seen many different swing styles and probably have seen nearly all the mistakes that are possible to make in golf." Before coming to Chapel Hill, McCormick spent the last year as professional at Mission Hills Curt McCormick, new club professional at Chapel Hill Golf club in Johnsburg, displays the video tape machine he uses for golf instruction. The video tape machine records the student's swing and then is replayed seconds later as teacher and student examine the swing and discuss its positive and negative aspects. DIVOT DOLLS M.C.C. 6th Annual TRRDE FRIR Make plans to see the products and services in McHenry at the McHenry Trade Fair to be held on May 4-5-6 at Parkland Jr. High 1802 N. Ring wood Rd., McHenry Sponsored by McHenry Chamber of Commerce Filling the main dining room of McHenry Country Club on Tuesday the M.C.C. ladies heralded the advent of Spring and the golfing season with their annual Spring luncheon. Words of welcome by the women's association president, Laverne Harpling, were followed by a short explanation of the season's scheduling by Games' chairman, Bernice Dolce. Mil Leisten, captain of the traveling team, gave a short history of the team's victories and invited the ladies to come out and qualify for competition in the In- tersuburban League. The first four weeks for the lady golfers will be an easing into the season with a Ten nessee Dog Fight scheduled for April 24. Opening Team Play will be a home match against Foss Park of North Chicago. The scheduling looks good. Now, if Mother Nature cooperates, it should be a wonderful season. Happy Golfing!
