It is a non-competitive group, just for a lot of fun and fellowship. It does not make a bit of difference whether one is a good bowler or a beginner. Those "youngsters" who are involved feel they need the exercise, and it is very good therapy. To be accepted one must be a senior citizen from McHenry county. This group is for both women and men, fifty-five years old and older. For further information please contact Mr. Frank Giel. It is not a toll call. This group will meet every Monday at 1 p.m. at the local bowling lanes. CD Of A Court Visits Patients In V.A. Hospital The first Wednesday of every month is Catholic Daughters evening for veterans at V.A. hospital, North Chicago. A project that Joyce Kilmer Court 573 of the C..D. of A. has traditionally carried on for. 25 years is playing games and visiting with and serving refreshments to assigned patients. Last Wednesday's fivesome defied storm war nings, Clara Slegar's balky battery and "no suitable bananas" and were royally welcomed by the vets and their therapist Cynthia Cook. Driver Cecelia Oakford was accompanied by Bertilla Freund, Francis Widhalm, Oleva Clucas and Mrs. Marino, whose husband is hospitalized there. Fun games, playing for prizes was thoroughly enjoyed, and followed by refreshments the dedicated C.D.A. group served. Through these many visits, these deserving veterans have come to know and ap preciate the deep feeling the Catholic Daughters have for them. Celebrant of the Court's annual Communion Mass at St. Mary's, McHenry on the first Sunday in May was Father Bob Balog and members and guests were honored by his presence at the Oak Room breakfast table with them, as he lead them in prayer. It was an all out get acquainted session. The Mother's Day banquet coming up on the fifthteenth will highlight the oldest mother and the youngest mother in the audience. A fine entertainment program has been arranged by Chairlady Eleanor Freund and her committee. When the membership convenes on May 17 for its regular meeting the n o m i n a t i n g c o m m i t t e e chairlady, Clara Slegar, will present to the Regent the slate of new officers for the next two years to be duly elected. Hostesses for this event are Mary Agnes Hartmann, Jeannette Driscoll, Ellen Sharkey, Caroline Bauer, Leona Rauen, Evelyn Justen and Rachael Lomasney. The V.F.W.
