Buch building on Riverside drive, the government having taken a 10- year lease on the new quarters. Mr. Buch will install complete new ̂ fixtures for the office and expects to have everything in readfriess by the first of the month. Postmaster Walsh found it necessary to have more room and the postal authorities a few weeks ago advertised for bids, the result being that the Buch building was selected for the new location. Kent & Company, McHenry realtors, report the sale of the 240-acre Malgren fram, located north of Genoa City, Wis., to IcCann and DeYoung j^egan. This large farm lown as a dairy farm, having one of the largest herds in southern Wisconsin. The purchasers intend to continue the farm as a show dairy farm and have already moved onto the place and taken over operations. Bolger of McHenry in connection with ap­ proximately 57 acres of land, is inadequate and does not amount to just compensation to the owners, a new trial is being asked by the defendants in a motion filed in the county court before Judge Henry L. Cowlin. The motion was filed by At­ torney V.J. Knox and J.E. Bairstow, counsel for the owners of the property. The property in question is a part of the Bolger farm, located near the site of the McHenry dam, which is to be rebuilt and enlarged by the state. Almost 200 music students in the local high school are making preparations for the fourth annual spring festival which will be presented in the school gymnasium May 27. The Crystal Lake Merchants rallied 'round their big catcher, Wally Otto, at Johnsburg to beat the Tigers 4 to 3. TEN YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of May 16, 1969) After a long period of study and discussion, the board of School District 15 voted to in­ stitute a central kitchen for one year on a trial basis, effective next fall. The decision came after the board debated the advisability of including a kitchen in the new Junior high school soon to be constructed. The trial plan calls for food preparation to be done at the present Junior high and served at Landmark school. The sytem to be used consists of six basic steps: preparation, packaging, distributing, heating, serving and disposing. Congressman Robert Mc- Clory announced that an ex­ panded Head Start program for McHenry county for the summer of 1969 has been ap­ proved. Supported by a grant in the amount of $36,530.00 from the Office of Economic Op­ portunity, the two-month program will serve the children in five communities.
