Village of Mctienry Shores Jude la Francis 385-5067 Shores Picnic Great Success The village picnic, held Saturday, July 21, was a huge success, because of the efforts ; of many village residents who contributed their time and energy to the games, food stands, and the setting up of various booths. The picnic was so much fun that another get- together is planned for Sunday, Aug. 26, atCreekside park. This end-of-the-summer picnic will include a bonfire, and it will be for all residents. The regular business meeting was conducted, followed by com­ mittee reports. The road patching has beefi completed and work is being done on ditches that flood in storms. Robert Tomsa, village building inspector, brought an interesting item to the meeting. If a developer of an area subdivision on Ringwood road approves, a builder wants to construct several cave homes in that subdivision. Mr. Tomsa was supplied with brochures and architectural drawings of the cave homes. The cave homes are said to be quite economical as they do not have to have furnaces or air con­ ditioning^ With the energy problems we may see more and more of this type of home. The construction of these homes also have tQ meet county and village building codes. The next meeting of the village of Sunnyside will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. at the Johnsburg Junior high.
