S u i c i d a l , h a i r - r a i s i n c a n d ramnwavs and «nMHin0 with "Micc Pat lanlrcnn" tii Students entering the nineth grade this August are urged to make medical appointments now for physical examinations. The Illinois School code; Section 27-8, requires that all students must present written evidence of having completed a physical examination upon entrance into the ninth grade or upon entering the district. Parents should ask their physician to record all im munizations given under his supervision. If the child has received immunizations from another source, parents should bring these records to the physician for inclusion on the school physical. The district cannot consider that a child meets the * entrance requirements unless the im munization records are com plete. Since most children were immunized for diphtheria and tetanus before starting first grade, they will require a booster immunization for these diseases. Free immunizations may be obtained through the McHenry County Health department in Woodstock. Parents are encouraged to make appointments as early as possible this summer if they have not already done so. By making appointments as early as possible, parents will help area physicians in scheduling the thousands of children who will need physical examinations this year. Parents who cannot afford a physical should contact the school a 385-1145. Children entering the ninth grade will not be permitted to register for classes in the fall unless th^ have %ritten evidence of having completed the examination. The record of examination must be submitted on a state approved physical examination form and dated no earlier than six months prior to registration. Forms were given to students at the local elementary schools. FormS are also available upon request from McHenry high school East campus. The physical and emergency forms should be turned into the registrar at East campus as soon as completed. These forms must be received by Aug. >to insure the proper ollemnt of your youngster, ft is the responsibility of the ler student to have a shmen physical or a more ent physical on file in the ;'s office. Thirty days are allowed for out-of-state students to have the physical form transferred or to have a physical done. Fifteen diays are allowed for Illinois transfer students to have a physical on file. The early summer is an ideal time to obtain physical examinations for all sports - girls and boys. No student will be allowed to participate in a sport game or practice until she-he has presented the school with k completed physical examination. This is good for one calendar year. The* in coming ninth grade physical is acceptable for athletics, but all upper class student athletes should obtain a physical form to present to their physician for a physical examination. This form may be picked up at the office at either,^ast or West campus. Wonder Lake Anne Sowers 653-9549 School Opening Data Released This year, with the adoption of the county-wide calendar by all schools except Johnsburg, most Wonder Lake children will be on the same schedule. COMMUNITY CALENDAR Aug. 1 - Young at Hearts, 11 a.m. Christ the King hall. hair-raising and e tingling , . are among terms that have been used to acclaim the performances by the "All-American Rough Riders" exhibition driving team. Veteran stunt show producer, John Anderson, promises that the 1979 edition of the show, which may be seen Friday night, Aug. 3, at the McHenry County fair grand stand, tops any auto stunt exhibition ever toured before. The public will see precision driving in a fleet of new 1979 pickup trucks, with many in tricate maneuvers performed over and between rampways. Daredevil drivers display seemingly impossible skills at speeds which push both the driver and their machinery to the limits of endurance. Sure to be a favorite with thrill seekers are the high wingovers, described as ultimate two wheel balancing with the "Warlock" pickups careening off rampways almost over on their sides, traveling many feet precariously balanced on two wheels. The program will include the antics of "Smash", the daredevil clown, as he risks life and limb while standing on the Aug. 2 - Woman's Club board meeting, 8 {J.m.
