Sunday classes will begin on Sept. 23, and weekday classes will begin the week of Sept. 23. ' \ RESIDENT WINS CAR The 127th annual Wonder Lake Golf open was a huge success with approximately 60 men joining in the fun of golfing together. The men were told that the one who came closest to the pin on the fourth hole would be the winner of a car. Joe Sullivan was nine feet and three inches from the pin. He received a car, alright - a 1968 Mercury. No one said anything about a new car! After golfing the men enjoyed a delicious dinner and the awarding of prizes. George Street won the prize for the best score. George had a 79 for 18 holed. > QUIET DAYS Now that school has begun, have you noticed how quiet our neighborhoods are? No more bikes with riders trying to do wheelies down the street. No more hurrying to get the housework done in the mor ning, so you can take a break with the kids in the afternoon at the beach. It's very lonesome eating lunch alone instead of having your own kids and all the extra little friends huddled around the kitchen table, laughing and talking over the big baseball game that will be resumed after the food disappears. The kids look so neat and clean in their new school clothes as they leave for the bus stop in the morning, but those tanned little legs were certainly cute running around in cut-offs and beat up gym shoes. Now it's to bed early, up and out the door fast in the mor ning, home in the afternoon for a little play time before dinner and then homework to do. Quiet days for Moms, but a good chance to start on all the Lakeland Park & Lakeland Shores Sharon Gacek Karen Aldrich 385-3777 344-2780 Bassetts Happy With Colorado A few weeks ago the Bassetts (Homer, Melinda, Lisa and Amy) left for their new home in Colorado. Everyone has apprehensions when leaving the security of home for new surroundings. Well, after hearing them rave about their new home state, we know they love it out there. The Bassetts recently wrote friends a letter telling them how they love their new home house cleaning that has been put off all summer!
