Sunday School classes for all ages meet at 9:15 a.m., Sunday morning service is at 10:30 and evening service at 6. In both cases a nursery is provided for babies and toddlers. On Sunday morning, Primary church is conducted for other children 6 and under during the worhship service. The pastor of the Evangelical Free church is the Reverend Roy Wisner, a former missionary to Ethiopia with the Sudan Interior mission. The church formerly met at the Carestoel Rehabilitation home. II The Woodstock Fine Arts association will present a benefit program, Sept. 15 at 8 ' o'clock at the Operin House, featuring nineteen members of the Chicago Pops orchestra. Dr. Leon Stein, dean meritus . of the DePaul university School of Music, will conduct this very popular orchestra which has given many audiences great pleasure. Dr. Stein is currently musical director of the City „ Symphony orchestra of Chicago, he has been conductor of the DePaul university Community Symphony and Skokie Valley orchestras and has appeared as guest con­ ductor with numerous other orchestras. Under the joint _ ces of the Chicago Sym­ phony and Civic orchestras of -Chicago, he was awarded a fellowship in conducting with Hans Lange and Frederick Stock. His performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Community Sym­ phony and a chorus of 200 vocies was hailed as "ab­ solutely miraculous" by critic Seymour Raven of the Chicago Tribune. Beginning this fall, "Dr. Stein will also be director of "project Score", the free rriusic school for musically talented but economically disad­ vantaged youth which is sponsored by the Chicago Pops Orchestra association. Since 1977, the or­ chestra has established a regular concert season at the Auditorium theatre. Last year the orchestra gave four regular series performances, as well as several private appearances and two performances spon­ sored by the City of Chicago at Navy Pier. This summer, the Pops has appeared in concert at Navy Pier with the School of the Lyric Opera Ballet and the Lyric Opera School for Per­ formance of Puccini's "LaBoheme". The Chicago Pops orchestra is composed of some of the finest professional musicians in Chicago. Under guest con­ ductors, such as the late Arthur Fiedler, Erick Kunzel and Nelson Riddle, the Pops present programs as diverse as the conductors themselves. Spanning the generations, from traditional favorites such as Verdi, Puccini and Strauss, to contemporary composers, such as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gershwin, Hamlisch and Bacharach, the Pops repertoire appeals to all ages. Tickets are available at the Opera House, or one may call the ticket office at 338-5300. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program. Proceeds from this benefit program will go toward the association's programming of its series this coming year for children and adults and with the continuing refurbishing and restoration of the interior of the Opera House.
