The Easter Seal society is holding auditions for skittish volunteers - those who have the ability to write and-or perform in skits or who have other entertainment talents. The skits will be part of a program planned by Youth for Easter Seals (Y.E.S.) which will be presented for members of the local Stroke club. The program, which will include a sit-down dinner, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, With California Players according to Dflvid Enblom, program coordinator. Many stroke patients shun social situations due to em barrassment and lack of mobility. Realizing that socialization is a vital part of rehabilitation the Stroke club helps members and their families adjust to new cir cumstances through education, socialization and moral sup port. In discussing the program, Enblon said: "We want to provide an atmosphere in which the club members can have a good time. There'll be good food and drink and, hopefully, a lot of good skits! Someone came up with the idea of a male beauty pageant, and we're willing to try it if we can get the guys to audition for it." - Anyone interested in par ticipating in the beauty contest, or who has another talent they would like to share for an af ternoon is urged to contact Barbara Gosser at the Easter Seal Therapy center at 338-1707. The auditions will be held at the Therapy center, 708 Washington street on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 27 and 28 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Outstanding Reviews For Former McHenry Resident Alan Phalin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Phalin, South street, McHenry, has recently r e c e i v e d o u t s t a n d i n g newspaper, TV and radio reviews, and had his picture in TV Guide in California, for his recent part in the Conijo P l a y e r s ' ( C a l i f o r n i a ) fair.
