May avenue were so pleased when they heard their daughter, Annette Orgler, who sings with the choir at St. Mary's Roman Catholic church in Riverside, 111., lias been asked to sing at the papal Mass in Chicago. The choir, under the direction of Mr. A. Pelloquin, will sing in the Mass in Grant park Oct. 5 for Pope John Paul II. What an honor and privilege to be part of this auspicious occasion! Mom and Dad, though, intend to watch the Mass on TV rather than be part of the countless numbers who will crowd Grant park for Pope John's Mass. • t>* v? A rather lengthy business meeting was held and a heated discussion on zoning along Wilmot road ensued. All was resolved. , The village is accepting snow removal bids for the coming season. It's time once again to start planning for winter, in hopes last winter's blizzard will not happen this year, too. I'm sure we all remember the Blizzard of '79. Vehicle stickers for the coming year have been ordered and will go on sale Dec. 1. The next regular meeting of the village of Sunnyside will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. at the Johnsburg Junior high. BIRTHDAYS Birthday greetings this week go to Carol Smith, who has her day Sept. 27. Mark Klapperich has his day Sept. 28. Best wishes to you both for a happy day and many more to come. WELCOME NEIGHBOR We welcome to the village of Sunnyside the Lon Forbes family who recently moved into a new home at 1903 W. May avenue. Hope you enjoy your new home, and living in our fair village. Do you have someone to whom you would like to wish a happy birthday or happy an niversary? If you do please call me. SOFFEN & SPEIL Sept. 9, Johnsburg held its' annual Soffen & Speil parade and picnic. This year's parade was one of the best. It gets bigger and better every year. From Sunnyside was Jerry Connerty's Realty with a float depicting St. John's church in Johnsburg. Jerry's ingenuity topped last year's replica of his octagon shaped realty office.
