Carey The newest building in the McHenry State Bank complex wiiI be dedicated in memory of past president Gerald J.,Carey and the building will be called the Gerald J. Carey Building. Mr. Carey joined the staff of the McHenry State Bank in 1916. He was appointed assistant cashier in 1918 shortly before leaving for military service. Mr. Carey served as a bank examiner until his return to the bank in 1926 as vice- president and general manager. He was appointed cashier the following year and elected to the board of directors in 1933. He was elected to the position of bank president in 1943 and continued serving in this capacity until his death in 1972. Gerald J. Carey's long and successful career with the McHenry State Bank has been inspirational to all those who knew and remember him. McHenry State Bank 3510 W.
