Since Bart Starr's teams in past years (some dis­ appointing) have offered a good defense but less than enough offense, this is encour­ aging. Should the 1979 team have a potent offense, Green Bay for the first time in years might really be a power, again. The Golden Eagles by the virtue of their 25 to 6 win over Crystal Lake Central are cm top of the heap in the conference. The Eagles have a versatile attack. All conference running back Jeff Scime is really a speedster and co-scoring leader in the conference. Senior aid Mark Hudson can really haul them in and scoot to the end zone. Quarterback Scott Choklad, along with wing back Tim Elliott, give the Eagels plenty of offensive power. The defense is headed up by tackle Mike Orndahl a 6'2" 190 pounder. Also on defense is guard Pat Boyle a six footer and 180 and end Kevin Richtner another six footer. With the Eagles flying high from their win over Central, this is the time for the Warriors to bounce back for a win. Having been in all their games, the Warriors have come out on top in only one. With the Jacobs homecoming on tap, it would be nice for Coach Joe and his squad to turn the tables, and spoil a homecoming for a change. The Warriors seem to be healthy, except that Jim Frantz who was injured in the first period last week a doubtful starter. The bonfire on Thursday night was % one of the biggest in recent years, and a good crowd was on hand to take part in the pep rally. The police and fire :£ department were on hand to oversee the activities. School officials appreciate the fine group of people who made the bonfire so successful. The parade on Friday afternoon was simply great, jij: A lot of grumbling was heard because of the time element,but there were plenty of floats and organizations had cars with their officers in parade. Too Tall was a boxer in his school days and he has the determination to see this experiment through. Big as he is, if he can learn his trade by hard work, taking his licks, and avoiding the same mistakes, he could be­ come a formidable boxer. Too Tall doesn't come over, in an interview, as the traditional footballer, of limited depth. He admitted recently he had thought over his move from the Dallas Cowboys to boxing for years, and says he isn't afraid of taking a punch--he's taken them in younger years. He knows he has a lot to learn and that it may take a number of fights before he becomes a con­ tender. In short, his attitude is quite healthy. He seems utter­ ly calm and logical. One sus­ pects if Too Tall doesn't have a glass jaw, he'll be heard from in the boxing racket, and it might be a big noise. McHenry Clinic And Plans for the long awaited McHenry Tumbleweed's tumbling clinic and tryouts have finally been completed. The tumbling clinic, open to boys and girls of all ages, will be held at the McHenry Junior high on Sat., Nov. 3. Please check schedule below. Tryouts for joining the team will also be held. You do not have tc^ryout for the team in order to attend the clinic. The clinic will be supervised by Duane Sperry, Tumble-Weed coach, and will be educational and entertaining to beginners as well as more advanced persons.
