That is one question that will be an­ swered during the seventeenth annual convention of the Illinois Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, ClOMOTC). #r Tfop convention Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20, at the Arlington Park Hilton in Arlington Heights is being hosted by the Double Dilemma Mothers of Twins Club of McHenry County.Several other Chicago area and northwest suburban clubs are expected to attend. , A University of Chicago graduate student who has spent a year researching twins' activities and development will present her findings Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10:45 a.m. Miss Nancy Segal's topic will be "Twins: A Survey of Unusual Behavior and Traits" which will include twin language, lefthandedness and other aspects of twin growth. Members of IOMOTC served as sources for much of Miss Segal's thesis research. Miss Segal is a member of the Committee on Human Development, part of the Department of Behavioral Sciences with the University of Chicago and is currently working on her doctorate in Human Development. The second major workshop at 2:15 p.m. is titled "Enhan­ cing Children's Self-concept" and will be presented by Dr. R.P. Albert, principal of the Central Elementary School in Riverside. Dr. Albert is teaching graduate courses for National College of Education. In addition he has presented inservice workshops for teachers from kindergarten through high school levels and has talked to a great number of parent groups. Other activities orf the con- Sunnyside Area Betty Messer 344-2494 Happy Ending To Bike Story It's always nice to put a happy end to a story. And that is what this is. Last week the police department had me run a story on bikes that had been turned into the department. They were expensive bikes that either had been lost or stolen. The bikes are now back to their rightful owners. Chief Mitchell received calls shortly after Wednesday's paper came out. The missing bikes were identified and claimed. Once again our police department has effectively seen that stolen or lost articles were returned to the owners. And it also goes to show we have a pretty loyal following of the news of the area in this column. HOSPITAL NOTE Our friend and neighbor Ken Carlson who, as I reported last week, is in the Hines VA hospital and is feeling mighty lonesome. Ken has been in the hospital for some time and because of surgery will be out in Hines for a while yet. But he's feeling kind of lonesome for Sunnyside and his friends out here. He'd love to get a card or note from his friends. It would make a long lonely day a lot brighter. ELVIS IMPERSONATOR In August of this year, the village of Sunnyside had a rare treat in a free rock concert given by Dave "Elvis" Ehlert. Those who attended the concert were awed by the amazing resemblance Dave has to the late "King of Rock", Elvis Presley. Seeing him is almost like seeing a ghost. Dave calls his act "A Tribute to Elvis". At his recent rock concert, he started a petition for the national holiday for Elvis committee's Jan. 8 memory to the "King of Music" program to be presented in the area. This winter Dave will be appearing in Jamaica, Ger­ many and Egypt. He and his group have played in 32 states and Canada. BIRTHDAYS Our birthday greetings this week go to Shawn Colomer, whose day is Oct. 14. Oct. 17 is the day for Bill Sandell. Jeff Lehman has his day Oct. 19. FIFTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Oct. 17, 1929) People in this vicinity will no doubt rejoice at the good news that work has been commenced and is progressing rapidly on the bridge across the Chicago & Northwestern railroad tracks east of Crystal Lake and south of Terra Cotta on Route 31. This will mean the completion of the cement highway, Route 61 which was constructed last year with the exception of the detour at the point where the town line road is met. The large fill was put in at the railroad tracks and the remainder of the road was constructed, leaving the short strip at the tracks not, completed. Many who are interested in the boys of this community will be glad to know the local Boy Scout troop has been reorganized, the second meeting of the season being held at the grade school. Mr. Schoenholz, teacher of the fifth grade, who is much interested in Scout work, has been ap­ pointed the Scoutmaster with Howard Ensign as assistant Scoutmaster and everything looks bright for a prosperous* season for the local group. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Oct. 26, 1939) Fines and costs in the amount of $173.30 were assessed against three Chicago hunters in the justice court of Albert Krause at Woodstock for violation of the state game law. The three were arrested near the McHenry dam by William C. Coghlan, deputy sheriff, who resides near Burton Bridge. Coghlan was on his way to church Sunday morning when he saw the Chicago trio along the highway. One was in the car, while the two others had just shot at some birds. A hen and cock pheasant were found in the car. Thirty days in the county jail was the sentence pronounced for Irving Roth, police magistrate of Lily Lake, for his contempt of court by Judge Henry Cowlin of Crystal Lake. Seldom' has the McHenry Country club hosted such a heartwarming event as the dinner held there to honor Joseph Frett of Johnsburg for a life of community service. The course is primarily designed for parents of children between the ages of 3 and 12. The class is meeting for 7 weeks at 7:30 p.m. at the Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian church.
