Bon(| was set at $20,000. ..'•Haupt was charged with burglary and his bond was set pt $10,000. i lV On Oct. 28, the American Legion home at 2502 Ringwood joad, McHenry, was burglarized. Someone broke in ,,$nd pried open the door of a „ fjoor safe and stole $2,000 and a replica of a .45 caliber automatic pistol. Also taken from the home were four cases of beer, 12 cigarette lighters and about $30. Someone pushed open a window and entered Fred Sunderlage's Wonder Lake residence and stole a microwave oven, two televisions, a stereo unit, a CB base station, several watches and rings, and about $760 in cash. A somewhat less adroit in truder broke the back porch window and the glass window of the kitchen door to get into Sam Marsala's house, also in Wonder Lake. The offender then managed to upset a vase in the living room, but, all that was taken was a band-aid as the person evidently cut himself. According to the police report, blood stains were found in the bathroom. On Oct. 26, someone pried open the garage window and broke, the inner door of Henry Andrzejczak's home in Wonder Lake. 1 " "•*, - According to the police report, $60 and a set of keys were stolen from the house. Using the keys stolen three days previously, someone entered Andrzerjczak's home on Oct. 29, and left with a BB pistol. Someone pried open the rear door of Brittany Builders, 1903 S. Route 31, McHenry, and stole a calculator, an electric typewriter, a picture and two notary seals. The Oct. 27 burglary of the McHenry Sportsman's club netted the thief 30 cases of targets. John Steele, of 208 Sydenham street, McHenry, reported the theft of a wooden tool box containing assorted tools and some electric saws. Charles Roundtree of 1401 N. Chapel Hill road, McHenry, reported the theft of several pieces Qf antique china and some assorted hand tools. Brian Miller of 1601 E. Vale street, McHenry, reported the theft of a homemade snowmobile which had been parked beside the house, . Thomas Kavourds of 1619 Joyce avenue, McHenry, reported that someone had entered his vehicle and stolen a .38 caliber pistol and a portable scanner. Someone entered an unlocked truck belonging to Thomas Cote of 3816 Fillmore road, McHenry, and stole his CB radio. In Wonder Lake, Ronald Welch reported the theft of 15 stereo tapes from his unlocked pickup truck. A motorcycle was taken from the home of Darren Butler of 3717 Fillmore road, McHenry, but was later found partially stripped and submerged in water. * Robert Heuck/ of Wonder Lake reported the syphoning of 20 gallons of gas. * \yilliam Frazier of 4004 Hamlin drive, McHenry, reported|he syphoning of about 15 galJtfrrS of gas from two vehicles parked at his home. Sheriff's police also in vestigated a reported burglary at Rirgwood school. When the school employees arrived Tuesday morning they found all the lights on in the building. Further investigation revealed that a window on the north side of the building had been broken, but nothing was found to have been taken. Community Auto Supply at 3021 W. Route 120, McHenry, reported that someone had opened the valve oh a storage lank which allowed some 50 gallons of blacktop sealer' to run onto the ground. At the regular October meeting, the McHenry County college board of trustees ac cepted with regret the Nov. 9 resignation of Richard Peters, dean of Administrative Ser vices and treasurerv Peters has accepted a position as assistant to the president and director of personnel at a community college in California. The board also accepted the audit report by Elmer Fox, Westheimer and Co. "The audit is a very favorable report and shows the college is 4n good fiscal condition," Peters said. Applications for the 1980-81 academic year must be received no later than Jan. 15, 1980, according to William K. Alderfer, the society's executive director; the winning applicant will be notified by May 15, 1980.' A Wonder Lake bicyclist was ticketed for improper lane usage when he crossed Elm street at an angle and was struck by a car Monday. The driver of the car, Shirley M. Wickstrom of 1801 Indian Ridge, McHenry, told McHenry police she had started to pull out from the Market Place and saw two bicyclists when one of the drivers started to cross the street and passed in front of her car. Riding the bicycle, Harry R. Wilkerson of Wonder Lake said he looked both ways and in front of him but did not see the car. Steven Smigielski of 4711 Althoff, McHenry, was ticketed for failure to yield the right-of- way when the car he was driving struck another auto at the intersection of Lincoln and Chapel Hill roads.. The driver of the other car, Lou Jurik, of 2301 Lincoln road, McHenry, said he stopped at the intersection, signalled and proceeded to turn north when the collision occurred. Smigielski told police the other car turned too short in front of him. The police report said that evidence at the scene showed that Jurik's car was almost completely northbound when the collision occurred.
