(Photo By DeWane Studio) "Shop and Share Benefits Church The United Methodist Women of the First United Methodist church of McHenry are sponsoring a "Shop and Share" program Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Nov. 19 20 and 21. for the benefit of the church Building fund. These three days preceding Thanksgiving offer an excellent op­ portunity for shoppers lo benefit the program. Certificates can be secured from 4he church office, or from members of the United Methodist Women. It is a simple procedure, the certificate is presented at the check-out counter and five percent of the total sales, less tax will be credited to the U.M.W. account. Enthusiasm is running high as the new church is progressing, and every purchase applied to the U.M.W. account to help the building fund grow will be very much appreciated. If you prefer to give a check, money order or certificate from a super­ market, it can be brought to St . Patrick's and will be used for the purchase of perishable items. We cannot all give as we would like but we do have people who live alone, whome we help. Small can of soup, envelopes of soup, vegetables, fruits, tuna, sardines, a package of in­ stant cocoa, cereal, a couple of bags of tea, a bar of soap, a package of dried milk are just a few suggestions. Valley View Sponsors Handmade Quilt For Bazaar Sale Auction Nov. 17 The parents, staff and students of Valley View elementary school invite the public to attend a sale and auction Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, located on route 120, north of the sand and gravel pit. Features of interest will include a sale of a new pool, garden and pet supplies at a reduced cost; an auction of hand-craft items and new merchandise donated by area merchants; and a silent auction of baked goods. All proceeds will benefit Valley View school. Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry W£lk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by UMfp.m. the day before at 385-8260. Gives Disco Lessons Parents Without Partners Chapter No. 189, will hold its next meeting Friday, Nov. 16, at the American Legion hall, in Crystal Lake, at 8:30 p.m. All first-time guests are asked to come at 8 p.m. for an orientation meeting. The program will feature a member of the Libertyville chapter who will give disco lessons and refreshments will follow. A pot luck supper at 6:30 ^p.m. will precede the combined adult and juvenile courts' meeting. All juveniles and their mothers are invited to attend.
