ANTHONY LADNER ..LIVING IN QUINCY, ILL.-Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ladner are making their heme in Quiacy, following a wedding trip to Colorado. The farmer Jennifer Lewan, daughter off Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Lewan of MeHenry, and Anthony Ladder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Swamhy of Summit, Miss., exchanged vows Aug. 25, at St. Patrick's Catholic church in MeHenry. Father Leo Bartd celebrated the 1 p.m. Mass. Immediately following, a reception was held at Crescent Bay Landing. The bride will be teaching Master Ballet, as well as performing in the Qnincy area. The bridegroom is a mathematics teacher in the Qnincy school system, and the owner and trainer of "Gymsttfc" Junior Olympic team. Senior Citizen Club View Crafts-Hobbies Following the last business meeting of the MeHenry Senior Citizens club, everyone enjoyed viewing a craft and hobby show presented by several members of the club. Among J the itemls displayed were " velvet and silk antique quilts made • the year 1800, handmade tablecloths, hemstitched and Swedish designs. „ Also, there were crocheted items, wood carvings, hand- painted china, china dolls, macrame, needlepoint, hooked rugs and wail hangings, three-dimensional pictures, Christmas items, a seventy-five year old silk piano shawl, ceramic ar­ ticles and a table of various items made by the Willing Workers. There was much interest shown in a rock and gem stone exhibit. Wanda Zima, program chairlady, was well-pleased and thanked the contributors for the many beautiful items. There were 138 members in attendance at West campus cafeteria to discuss Christmas buffet dinner to be held at West campus 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10. Reservations are still available and can be made by contacting Mrs. R.A. (Ruth) Fradell. The program for the evening will feature barbershop har­ mony. The executive committee was scheduled to meet 10 a.m. Dec. 3 at the MeHenry Public library. There will be no meeting Dec. 24. The next regular meeting of the seniors will be held Jan. 14, with election of 1980 officers. Nurses Hear Speaker The monthly meeting of the 16th District Nurses1 Association of Lake and MeHenry counties will be held Monday, Dec. 10 at the Holiday Inn, 6161 Grand avenue. Gurnee. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting- program will commence at 7:30 p.m. "Activating the Cancer Patient's Will to Live" will be presented by Joan Rosner, R.N., M.Ed., in­ structor in psychiatric nursing at Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center, Chicago. Woman's Club Has Luncheon MeHenry Woman's club will meet for a Christmas potluck luncheon at noon Dec. 13 at St. Patrick's parish hall. The board members will furnish the meat and everyone is asked to look in the yearbook to see what to bring. Also, a two dollar gift is requested for the grab bag. Featured entertainment is the "Joy Ringers," a group of nine women from the First Congregational church, Crystal Lake, presenting a selection of Christmas and other music. A business meeting will follow the luncheon, and the next borad meeting will be Jan. 7. Senior Walk-In Center Meals are served Monday through Friday at the MeHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 385-8260. Washington, west side entrance to the basement, at the top of the stairs, Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16, until the end of the 12:15 p.m. Mass. Fish will also be in need of able-bodied gentlemen Sunday, Dec. 16, at St. Patrick's basement, to help bring boxes in and get baskets readied for delivery during the early afternoon. When Mary Beth Porzel was escorted down the aisle of St. Peter's Catholic church in Spring Grove Dec. 1, she was wearing her mother's wedding dress; a floor length, nylon tulle gown trimmed with iridescent sequins, and had a high neck and long sheer sleeves. Her fingertip length veil edged with ruffling, included a blusher and was attached to a Juliette cap adorned with lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Porzel, 2314 Westward drive, Spring Grove, and the bridegroom, H. Thomas Knox, III is the son, of Mr. and Mrs. H. Thomas Knox, Jr., of Crystal Lake. " The 2 p.m. ceremony was concelebrated by Father Ted Galuszka, Father John Holdren of St. Thomas church, Crystal Lake and Father David Kagan of Rockford. Altar boys were Bill Rabelhofer, Richard Sullivan and Pat Kagan. The organist was Julia May; Lee Steinsdoerfer played the guitar; and soiloist was Sherri Shar- bough. A special selection for the presentation of flowers to the Blessed Mother was sung by the sister of the bride, Mrs. Cathleen Coughlin. % The matron of honor was Mrs. Cathleen Coughlin, sister of the bride.v Bridesmaids were Rita Ann and Maureen Porzel, sisters of the bride; Alice, Mary Teresa and Eileen Rabelhofer, cousins of the bride; Joan and Ann Knox, sisters of the groom; and Bonnie Harm, a friend of the bride. Attendants wore light French blue polyester knit gowns with spaghetti straps, empire style shaped bodice shirred at the side seams and jackets with hoods of royal blue velvet. The flower girl, Colleen Cooney, of Grayslake, wore a dress of capeau blue sheer polyester with full long sleeves and a high neck. The duties of best man were performed by James Berner, a friend of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were James Knox, brother of the groom; Raymond Porzel, brother of the bride; Michael Rabelhofer, cousin of the bride; Thomas Doyle, Emmett Long, Darryl May, Greg May and John Krausen, friends of the groom. The mother of the bride chose a long apricot polyester knit gown with a V- neck and long sleeves. The choice of the groom's mother was a long champagne color polyester dress trimmed ; with lace, with a high neckline. The reception for 258 ' guests was held at LaSalette Center, Twin Lakes, Wis. An added attraction was Irish ' step dancing performed by Maureen and Rita Ann Porzel, Eileen Rabelhofer, Cathy, Colleen and Doreen Cooney and Kathy and Josie McGeever. Midge Cristy was in charge of the guest book. The bride, a graduate of Richmond-Burton high school in 1978, is a student at M e H e n r y C o m m u n i t y college and also works in the library at the college. The bridegroom is employed at United Airlines and a part time student at MeHenry Community college. A prenuptial shower was given at the home of the bride's aunt, Mary'1 ' Rabelhofer by the j bridesmaids. Another bridal shower was given by the g r o o m ' s a u n t s , M r s .
