The hearing will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dundee room of Ramada Inn, 500 W. River Road, Elgin. All property owners of dams or persons living near dams, and those dealing with the construction and maintenance of dams are encouraged to attend the hearing. Illinois has over 4,000 dams on its rivers, lakes and streams. While these dams provide water supply, recreation and navigation benefits, they all have a potential for endangering life and causing economic loss should they fail.
