College Of Surgeons Honor BONNIE BROWN Bonnie Brown, R.N., formerly supervisor in Surgery, has been appointed to the newly-established position of Risk manager and Infection Control coordinator. She will work with all departments of the hospital lo assure quality RONALD W. TIMM McHenry Community high school, recently received his Master of Science degree in geology from Northern Illinois university. His graduate research was done on the Precambuan geology of the Beartooth Mountains in Montana. Tha young man holds a BS degree in geology and a minor in chemistry from Northern Illinois university. In the fall of 1980, he will be enrolled in an extensive training program in Dallas, Texas, before returning to Denver in 1981. AT PUMP SCHOOL-The McHenry Township Fire Protection district recently sent two firefighters to a pump school held by the Mack Track company. At this school, these men learned fire pomp theory as well as repair and maintenance of the pumps on the district's Ave fire engines. The school was held at Mack headquarters in Chicago and required these volunteers to spend foiir days in attendance, at no cost to the taxpayers. ROGER LUNDQUIST Dr. Roger Lundquist of the McHenry Medical Group has been given an honor that he calls "the culmination of a surgeon's career": Dr. Lundquist, a member of the Group since 1977, was among the 1,323 initiates to become Fellows of the American College of Surgeons recenUy^ The honor has been^gfven since 1913, and there are currently 42,000 fellows. To qualify, a member of the college must fulfill a number of requirements. Among the more important ones are being board cer­ tified by the American Board of American Surgeons in his specialty, completing two years of private or hospital surgical practice, and being in high professional standing. A McHenry resident, Dr. Lundquist is a vascular surgeon who received his B.A. from St. Olaf college in Minnesota and graduated from the Columbia university Medical school in 1969. How Come?
