Contest Banquet Twenty-three co-workers were in attendance at the meeting of the Women of the Moose Tuesday, Jan. 15. The meeting was called to order at 8 p.m., by Senior Regent Doris Low and the special award was won by Vi Haack. It was not possible to give the attendance award to Renee Gende, as intended, inasmuch as she was not present. Following the business discussion, plans were made for the Chapter Rally day to be held at the Woodstock lodge by the Woodstock chapter. The meet is scheduled for Mar. 2, and all members of chapter 1348 are invited to participate. Chapter Rally day is at­ tended by co-workers from five area chapters and each is responsible for a portion of the ritual. It is a very im­ pressive sight and the day is fun. Any members in­ terested in attending may call Doris Low to make reservations. The meeting ended with a variety of desserts served by Jane Roewer and Jeanette Koerper. A joint meeting of the Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m., at the Moose lodge. The 5th district Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies auxiliary will give recognition to students at the second annual Voice of Democracy essay contest banquet at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4308 in Lake Villa Saturday, Jan. 26. Karen Stroman and Jill Hutchinson of McHenry will be among the students given recognition. In addition, students from Woodstock, Carpentersville, Dundee, Highland Park and Antioch will also be given recognition and the first place winner will be announced. The student who places first will represent the 5th district at the annual State of Illinois Voice of Democracy banquet which will be held in Springfield Saturday, Feb. 9. Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600 and Ladies auxiliary who will be attending the banquet Saturday are Gerry Kuck, president of the 5th district Ladies auxiliary; Walter Kuck, chaplain of the 5th district Veterans of Foreign Wars; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wallace; Mary Fergen, president of the Ladies auxiliary 4600; Ila Hogan, treasurer of 5th district Ladies auxiliary and Commander and Mrs. Leo Bujak.
