The failure of the McHenry County Area Career center to materialize has an impact on vocational education in McHenry's high schools. It means fewer options for training and a decreased opportunity for a "capstone" expenence in the junior and senior years, according to a vocational education teacher. The district does not have adequate floor space for such training and does not have the most up-to-date machinery. McHenry County college's board of trustees voted to establish an $875,000 working cash fund to assist in alleviating cash flow problems. The board of High School District 156 approved a revised curriculum list for the two four-year high A Safer schools for 1980-81 which the administrators conceded would contain less course alternatives than now of­ fered. It was explained that because, in effect, the schools now have one-third the students over which to spread the course offerings they can no longer suc­ cessfully schedule a large number of courses. The enrollment reduction results from the loss of the John­ sburg students and the decision to go to two equivalent four-year campuses instead of the two two-year schools.
