Doctor Kidd turned in a 66 for the lowest net score as his 4-man team tied for third place. . Coach Chuck Cuda's McHenry high golfers finished sixth in an 18-team Held at the Lake Forest - - ' Invitational at Lake Bluff. The Warriors had a 2-stroke lead at the end of 9 holes, but couldn't hold it. A1 Ekeroth was medalist with a 77. The Marengo Indians crushed the Johnsburg Skyhawks 21-0, delivering the sixth straight loss to the winless team. The failure to convert an extra point cost the Warriors a chance to upset lead leading Jacobs. As a result, the Warriors went down to defeat by the score of 19 to 18 in a game that the "Fighting Warriors" gave the Eagles all they could, and still came up on the downside. Coach Chuck Cuda's McHenry high golf team qualified for the State sec tional tourney. They finished second in the District held at McHenry Country club behind winner Crystal Lake Central. A1 Ekeroth, who finished fourth, led the Warrior attack with a 76. Randy Hill had an 80, Mike Bauml shot an 82, while brother, Joe, had an 83. Rusty Nail Inn swept to its first championship in seven years of competition by taking two of three from Old Bridge-John's Sport Stop in the semi-finals and then three of four from Raymond's Bowl in the best of five finals. The Parkland Junior high school boys' cross country team has had an outstanding season this year with several fine accomplishments. The team took 4th place over all m in the Minooka cross country invitational, bringing home their first trophy of the season. They entered the I.E.S.A. District meet held in Wheeling and took first place, qualifying them^to run in the state cross country meet. They traveled to Lock- port to participate in the State meet and placed second. They finished up their season by winning first place at the Fox Valley Ten conference track meet. Sue Hutchinson and Nancy Glick, senior members of Coach Gary Gray's McHenry high tennis team. qualified for the state finals in Arlington Heights Sue retained her singles championship in the Round Lake district, and Nancy finished fourth. The Warriors as a team finished second in the ten-team tourney. This is the highest finish ever for a Warrior team in tennis. The girls' swimming team defeated Crown for their fourth victory of the season, breaking a school record for the number of wins in a season. The Warriors took first place in all 11 events The McHenry high golfers FOURTH MEDALIST-A1 Ekroth shot a 76 as Coach Cuda's MCHS golf team qualified for the State Finals.
