College Honors Vyduna Sisters in 4-H House At U Of I Judy Vyduna was initiated as an active member of 4-H House on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana. Miss Vyduna is a freshman majoring in Art Education She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin R. Vyduna, 4-H House is a women's cooperative house located at 805 West Ohio street in Urbana, All of the^6 girls are or have been in 4-H club work at least five years. Having attained at least 3.4 grade average during her pledging semester, she may be asked to become an active member provided she meets the personal standards set by the active chapter. These young women are selected on the basis of their 4-H club work, high school grades, community and school activities, and per­ sonality traits. Joy Vyduna, her sister, was recently elected as secretary at 4-H House. She will take over her duties at the beginning of the spring semester. Joy is a senior majoring in Speech Com­ munications Education. Cheryl Hansen Earns Dean's List Rating Cheryl Hansen, 2708 Iroquois, McHenry, was among students enrolled in the University of Wisconsin- Madison College of Letters and Science who have been named to the dean's list of top scholars for I he past semester The honor is earned by approximately 10 percent of Letters and Science students. Letters and Science is the largest college on the Madison campus with 44 teaching departments and some 1,000 faculty members. Beth Duel On Honors Listing At Carthage Beth Duel, an MCHS graduate who is a junior at Carthage college, Kenosha, Wis., was one of 121 students whose grade average of 3.4 or better placed them on the college's honors list for the Fall academic term. Miss Duel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ward Duel of 4907 West street, McHenry. They are Cynthia Ann Landin and Calinda Ellen Leonard. Miss Landin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Landin. Miss Leonard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Dean Leonard. Both are from McHenry ahd are seniors at E v a n g e l c o 1 l e g e , Springfield, Mo. Miss Landin is an elementary education major and Miss Leonard is a speech pathology and Spanish major. Both are 1976 graduates of McHenry high school. Evangel students listed in Who's Who Among Students are chosen by vote of the college faculty. A total of 32 students at Evangel received the honor this year. Total enrollment at Evangel is 1,612. PLEDGES SORORITY Lisa Toole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Toole of McHenry, has pledged the Delta Delta Pi sorority at Eureka college, Eureka, 111. Delta Delta Pi is the oldest sorority on the Eureka campus, and currently has 22 active members. Two McHenry Students On ISU Honor Listing Student Senate Head Serves In Admissions Martin VanKanegan of Wonder Lake is one of 33 Millikin university students serving on the "Student Admissions, corps at the university. Members of the Student Admissions corps are selected by Millikin's Office of Admissions to conduct tours of campus, work with prospective students and serve as hosts at special campus events for high school students. ' VanKanegan, a senior industrial management major, is president of Millikin's Student Senate and a member of the Hospitality corps. A 1976 graduate of McHenry high school, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack VanKanegan of 7104 Mohawk, Wonder Lake. Richard Sund,^4219 W. Ponca, and Laurie Ann Tjardes, 2615 Riverside drive, both McHenry, were among some 1,536 students at Illinois State university recognized for their scholarship by being in­ cluded in the Dean's list of their respective colleges for the fall, 1979, semester.
