The 19th Judicial Circuit court is comprised of McHenry and Lake counties. BRIEFS An open house to discuss the McHenry legal system was held March 4 at the home of C.R. Broman, 315 Draper road, McHenry. The meeting featured remarks by Judge Leonard Brody, a Republican candidate to fill the seat of Judge James Cooney, who is retiring. Citizens for Thomas Parsley will hold a fund raiser March 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Branded Steak House. The public is invited. Parsley is a can didate for 33rd district state legislator. Delegate Candidate Shaw Cites Reagan Innovation "The kind of innovation that led to California's Proposition 13 is needed on the national level," ac cording to 16th district delegate candidate Thomas D. Shaw. "That's why I'm supporting Ronald Reagan for President. He proved that new ideas could work in California and I'm confident he would use the same in novation on the national level." Reagan was the author of , Proposition One, the first California attempt to place a limit on taxation. Although that effort failed, largely due to Democratic opposition in the Democrat-controlled California legislature, it was Reagan's inititative and imagination that ultimately led to the successful passage of California's Propositon 13 in 1978. _ "We "need someone in office who won't be bogged down in the day-to-day Washington mentality", Shaw said. "But we need someone with experience as the head of a major government and Reagan was the head of the eighth largest government entity in the world while he was governor of California.
