Bancroft, who teaches photography at MCC, will lead a tour to India and Nepal In May as part of the college's international study program. MCC' photography in­ structor Denis Bancroft will show slides and talk about the tour of India and Nepal he will lead in Mjay in con­ junction with an independent study course. This free slide program is offered March 13 at McHenry County college. Bancroft will show slides he took on three trips to India and Nepal. The 7 p.m. show in MCC's Main hall building, Room 163, will include many of the highlights of the May tour and will be of special interest to those who are considering joining the tour. "While it's primarily* a photographic tour it will,also be a cultural experience. Since most people take photos when they take a tour, this trip is an ideal way to polish your photographic skills and come home with some great pictures," Bancroft said. The trip will include visits to Delhi, Strinagar, Jaipur, Agra, Khajuraho, Varnasi, and seven days in Kath- mandu, Nepal and environs. Bancroft said the groups will be able to see breathtaking scenery, experience the flavor of India and get a chance to view the rural and religious aspects of the countries. The tour will leave May 16 and return June 8. Bancroft urged those who want to learn more about the tour to attend the free slide show March 13 or to telephone him at the college at (815) 455- 3700. Scholarships Each Spring, the Woman's club of Wonder Lake awards two $400 scholarships to Wonder Lake students. To qualify, you must be a Wonder Lake resident; you may be a high sclfool senior, presently , attending college or planning to enter this fall. Applications may be ob­ tained through the Guidance departments of McHenry high, Woodstock high, Marian Central, or by calling Mrs. Francis G. (Joanne) Higgins, E. Lake1" Shore drive, Scholarship chairman. The deadline for returning applications is April 18. Members of the Woman's club work very hard during the year, raising money for the scholarship fund and were happy to be able to increase the amount from $375 to $400 this year. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply. CPR COURSE The Wonder Lake Area Jay-Cees, in conjunction with the Wonder Lake Fire department, are offering a free CPR course to anyone 10 years old and up. It will be held Saturday^ March 15. Since they need know the number who will \ attending, you are asked to register by calling 728-0404 and you will be given farther details. SENIOR'S SING ALONG The Wonder Lake Senior Citizens will be celebrating St. Patrick's day with an Irish Sing Along as their program for the day. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m.' Monday, March 17, at Nativity Lutheran church. This will be an important meeting, since it is election of officers. Blood pressure sen will take place before meeting, from 11-12:30 p.m.! as is always done on the third Monday of the month. NATIVITY CHURCH After the Lenten season is over, Nativity will be of­ fering a seven-week film series entitled, "Focus on the Family", starting April 11. These films will be of­ fered on seven Friday evenings and they are in-, tended for the whole family. - Nearly fifty topics will be demonstrated and discussed by twenty-five leaders and V Xv * V J > V all participants ul (Jrassa H0 Christian Education Leadership and Youth conference March 14 and 15, in Rockford, 111. The Friday evening and Saturday programs will include inspirational music and speakers, workshops and exhibits. There will be a Youth Rally Saturday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. for all teens. CROP WALK •' Recruiters are being sought to sign up walkers for the 1980 CROP Walk which will take place Sunday, May 4. The money obtained through the pledges would help to supply food to those in need from our area. Twenty-five percent of the profits goes to the FISH program. Church World Service is the sponsoring organization, which is comprised of members from all denominations.
