Farmer and the school board have made major cuts in per­ sonnel and programs known to the public as of the eighteenth of March. I feel it is very important for anyone interested in public education to make our needs known to Gov. Thompson, our legislators and the state school board. "We can't afford to sit back and hope someone else will let our representatives know how we feel, we must each write to our elected officials and let them know what our situation is and that they must do something to change it., ir "The legislature needs to increase the per-child amount to a recommended $1,501. "At this time we are required to tax ourselves $1.86 per $1,000 of our assessed evaluation to qualify for any help from the state. "Gov. Thompson is now recommending raising that to $1.95. Since we are not taxing at that level we would again lose state aid and face more cuts again next year. The only way to increase our $1.86 to $1.95 is to pass a referendum and we haven't passed one for 14 years. The full length film entitled "David and Goliath" will be shown at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
