SECTION 2 - PAGE 7 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY. MARCH It, UN "Human Sexuality" Workshop At College The Family Service & Community Mental Health center says sexuality is one of the main human resources of enjoyment,.relaxation, self-expression and sharing,, but seldom do partners talk about their sexuality with the other or take the time to learn more about this vital area of personality. A special workshop for couples is being presented through the adult education division of McHenry County college for just this purpose - to give couples the op portunity to learn more about both their individual and coupled sexuality. The workshop will be held Thursday evenings, April 10, 17, 24, and May 1, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Woodstock high school, Room 207. The workshop is entitled "Human Sexuality" and will be taught by local professionals of the Family Service and Community Mental Health center. Mary Plocher is a certified social worker and coor dinator of the center's consultation and education program. Dr. David Simons is a registered clinical psychologist and coordinator of the center's community outpatient program. It has been the experience of most professionals that much interpersonal and-or marital distress can be alleviated and prevented by greater knowledge and understanding on the part of couples about the dynamics and function of human sexuality within, their relationships. Hetero- sexuality and its dynamics will be the primary theme of the workshop. Topics for discussion will include love, compatibility, sexual expression and techniques, interdependence and individuality. The purpose of this workshop is to prevent f u t u r e p r o b l e m s a n d m i s u n d e r s t a n d i n g s f o r couples by providing them with more information about the many myths and realities of their sexuality and its expression. The workshop is designed to be an enrichment course for couples, not a therapy course. Couples who may have pronounced sexual problems are instead recommended to seek therapy. Registration can be done through McHenry County college by calling the registration office and asking to register for Seminar 802031 A of the Spring Adult Education program. There is a registration fee. All necessary information will be taken over the phone. The phone number to call to register is 455-3700. For more information about the- seminar call 338-4750 and ask for the C & E unit. BIBLE VERSE "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto Salvation." - 1.
