MAARTIN, IN THE DUTCH ANTILLES - Mr. and Mrs. George Marshall Ramsay are residing in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, after a honeymoon trip to St. Maartin, in the Dutch Antilles. The former Cynthia Marie Freund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene P. Freund, McHenry, and George Marshall Ramsay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alistair Ramsay, Ingleside, were married Feb. 16, in the church of Saint Mary of the Assumption, McHenry, by the Reverend James Novak. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Johnsburg Community club for 180 guests. The bride graduated from the College of Lake County, Gray slake, in 1977 and was employed as a medical technologist for Condell Memorial hospital. Liberty ville. The bridegroom is a 1979 graduate of Wittenberg university, Springfield, Ohio, and is presently a Quality Assurance supervisor for Abbott Laboratories in Rocky Mount. MR. AND MRS. KEVIN M. DORAN MARRIED IN LAS VEGAS - Kevin M. Doran, youngest son of the John L. Boehms of Kane avenue, McHenry, and the late Robert J. Doran, Sr., was married on St. Patrick's day to Angela Rose Barnhart, daughter of Morris and Cathy Barn hart, of El Toro, Calif. The bridegroom, a 1974 graduate of McHenry high school, has been a resident of Tustin, Calif, for the past year, where he is employed by a restaurant chain. The couple were married at the Cupid Wedding chapel in Las Vegas and are now residing with her seventeen-month-old son, Brian, at 16282 Main street, Tustin, Calif. Diabetics' Luncheon Spring marks the begin­ ning of a new season, with new meal ideas,thoughts of outdoors eating or perhaps of eating away from home "for a change." But, people who are diabetic--or related to someone who is diabetic- may be uncertain what to prepare to please both the diabetic and others at the dining table. Memorial Hospital for McHenry County dietitians have some answers. They plan a diabetics luncheon at 1 p.m. at the Memorial hospital conference room Wednesday, April 23. Invited are diabetics and their spouses. Only charge is to cover the cost of the food. says Mrs. Dee Budelier, hospital dietitian. She asks that people make reservations by April 18, calling the hospital at 338- 2500, Extension 256. Persons attending will enjoy a meal prepared for them, and they will also select food according to their diet prescriptions. Mrs. Budelier requests that people bring along their meal plan to follow in selecting from the brunch theme of this luncheon. Book Reviewed At Spring Tea The United Methodist Women of. the First United Methodist church of McHenry are sponsoring a Spring Tea and Book Review Wednesday, April 23, 1 p.m. at the church. The book to be reviewed will be "The Lamb's War" by Jan deHartog. This is a Quaker story, a sequel to "The Peaceable Kingdom". Martha Hopkins, a well known book reviewer and lecturer will present the program. She has given several book reviews in this area, which were very good! Tickets can be secured from any U.M.W. member, or at the door the day of the program. The proceeds from this project will go to the Building fund of the church. Ladies Hold Annual Sale The Zion Ladies Aid will hold their Annual Spring Rummage Sale April 17 and 18 in the social hall of Zion Lutheran church, which is located at 4206 W. Waukegan road in McHenry. Spring Event Is Held Meeting Features Speaker At the next meeting of the McHenry Business and Professional women's club April 21 members and guests will learn about Social Security changes from guest speaker Wm! Biscomb. Mr. Biscomb is the branch manager of the Social Security office in Woodstock, and will direct the question and answer program around "Social Security And The Changing Society". The meeting will be held at the Plum Garden restaurant in McHenry, with a cocktail hour at 6:30 and dinner at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome and may make a reservation with any member or call 385- 0258 by^Thursday, April 17. Adeline Pedersen, B.P.W. president, and Dorothy Haddick attended the District VI President's Council in Belvidere, with dinner at the Beacon restaurant. Final pans were discussed for the State Convention May 1-4 at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis. The Council is currently forming a membership orientation program for prospective new members. May 11 marks the day for an ERA rally, featuring a Mother's day march in Grant Park, Chicago. Participants are asked to wear green and white clothing for the event. Everyone is invited to the Lakeland Park Women's club annual Spring Lun­ cheon and Card Party which will be held Wednesday, April 23, at St. Patrick's church hall, 3500 W. Washington street. Serving begins at 11:30 a.m. and there will be many prizes. Tickets are available from any of the club members, or the ticket chairman. Reservations can be made by calling the president, Shirley Koch at 385-3426, or the ticket chairman Lyda Radisch at 385-2754. Business people will be served promptly, so they can return to work on time. Men are urged to attend and take part in the fine luncheon and an afternoon of cards with their friends. There will be other games for non card players or anyone can just spend a pleasant afternoon visiting with friends after eating. Vicki O'Leary will present a program on "Music For Tots". Vicki. who has a degree in music from Millikin university, has taught elementary music for four years and will explore the many facets of music for children. She will discuss sounds and non-sounds, creative The social springtime event for the Catholic Daughters of the Americas is a card party to be held April 17 at the Knights of Columbus hall at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in the games and partake of the "goodies" from the generously laden table. Members pf the Catholic Daughters of the Americas had a happy reunion recently and Reverend D. Tranel opened the meeting with thoughts on how one's movements, finger plays, and will share some of «the special recordings for children and discuss how large and small muscle coordination relate to music participation. She plans to bring along some homemade instruments, ideal for the "non-singing, lip-moving parents" to make and use with their children. The second half of the prayer life need not be separated from daily living. He said a visit to the cemetery is always con­ ducive to prayer ; the daily tasks performed at home are gifts from God - prayers. Celia Blake and Oliva Clucas express acts of goodwill, unity and charity in their scheduled visits to Carestoel.
