Wonder Lake Anne Sowers 653-9549 Keep interest After the Wonder Lake column appeared last Wednesday, I received many phone calls from concerned community members who are willing to do something about the crime situation at Wonder Lake. It is very apparent we are not going to sit back and let a minority take over our wonderful community. People are concerned for other people. Now we just have to keep our interest peaking and give Ed McFadden a call at 338-2141. Some callers would like subdivision groups to meet with McFadden, which is exactly what he would en courage. Give him a call to set something up. YOUNG AT HEARTS The April 16 meeting of the Young At Hearts was at tended by 34 members, who enjoyed desserts provided by Louise Armenentos, Helen Sullivan, and Ann Wilcox. Members were reminded of the Anniversary dinner to be held April 23, at a local restaurant. The club will be celebrating its twelfth year of existence Get well wishes were sent to Catherine Omerzo, who is home from the hospital and feeling much better, and to San Winter, who has been transfered from the hospital to a nursing home. The next meeting will be held May 7,11 a.m. in Christ the King hall. Anyone in terested in joining is en couraged to stop in on either the first or third Wednesday of every month. A new member was ac cepted by affirmation of faith. He is Richard E. Draper of Ridge lane. COUNTY ORDINANCES It seems that our recent Spring weather has caused some problems in the Wooded Shores area. Many residents are finding holes in their windows caused by BB's. There is a McHenry county ordinance prohibiting the firing of BB guns in a residential area. Not only Can this cause -property damage, but also physical damage if not properly supervised. The dog population has also taken over in Wooded Shores. Animals, like humans, hgve been confined all winter and are now ex periencing 'Spring Fever'. There is an ordinance about running dogs who are picked up by the Animal Control and taken to the Animal Shelter. Maybe a closer check on closed gates or dog runways could help with this problem McHenry Mental County Comprehensive Health Service System Mental Health Crisis Line For McHenry County 1-800/892-8900 Toll Free 24 Hour Emergency Number Professional Staff will answer your call. It tokos courage to osk for help, and we are always there THE 1 GAS PUMP A slipping automatic transmission will eat gas rapidly because much of the power sent to the rear wheels is lost due to slip page. The transmission should shift smoothly and surely. If it hesitates, jerks or whines, or slips its way into higher gear, have it checked. Gas which should be propelling the car is in stead being wasted. NOW!
