Revelle, 5Vfe years old, was declared dead at McHenry hospital Tuesday evening about 6:10 after he was taken from the deep end of the Camp Duncan pool, near Volo. Bryar), who resided at 112 BellvieW, Round Lake, was part of an instructional class at the camp, which has a pool that is divided into two sections, one shallow and the other deeper, for more ex perienced swimmers. When Bryan failed to respond to 4:45 p.m. roll call, a lifeguard and a camp in structor began the search. They found him, face down, in the deep end of the pool. CPR was administered and the Fox Lake Rescue squad called but efforts to revive him failed. Update Community On Day Care Expansion Overnight Painting Mother. Nature used her artistic ability during the wee hours of Thursday morning to display her talents. She robbed the residents of this home from the enjoyable sunshine she spread earlier, to paint the redwood deck and its articles with a light blanket of snow. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Community leaders and representatives of civic groups were invited this week to attend a com b ina t ion in fo rma t iona l meeting and report on fund drive plans associated with construction of the all-new Day Care program facility by the Woodstock Children's home. C l i f fo rd Redd ing , executive director of, the Children's home, explained the Day Care program begun in 1972 has grown steadily so that today the present facility is not suited to handle the burgeoning needs of the community. By early 1979, 70 children were being cared for with a varied program. After careful study, the Children's home board in early 1980 approved construction of an a l l -new fac i l i t y w i th a capacity to serve 120 children. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain com munity input into the needs and the type of services that would be most beneficial. Redding said the good news about the project is that a substantial amount of the $350,000 needed is on hand, available through the long-term lease of present property on Route 47 across from Sunset Manor. In addition, local fund- raising efforts will be launched to raise about $15,000 to be used for fur n i sh ing , l andscap ing and special equipment. Redding exp la ined these a r e necessary expenses unable to be covered by funds otherwise available. The Day Care program is for children from 2 years of age through the fifth grade. Karen Ross is director of the staff of 10 people. Preliminary plans call for four modules surrounding a multi-purpose room with a total square footage of 6,500 to 8,000 square feet. Three modu les wi l l hand le 40 children each, and the fourth will be for office, kitchen, reception area, lounge, isolation area and storage. CHECKLST Medicines and household products and poisons must be kept out of a child's reach. Some poisons may not be ob vious, such as lead-base paints. Look for the term "nontoxic" when buying paints. Watch for other safety labels as well, such as "flame resistant" and "hygenic material." Bee Colonies Lure For Sweet-Toothed Thief May 1 Deadline For Health Scholarship A thief with a sweet tooth or a fascination for the winged insects stole 15 three- story bee colonies and 20 bee boxes from Kestutis Bar- tkus, of 2811 S. Lake drive, McHenry. Bartkus reported the theft shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. Evidence at the scene showed that a truck had backed over 20 wooden feeders. Authorities believe the thief was knowledgeable about bees since the theft occurred at night. Two men were arrested Two In Custody For Possession Of Drug A 17-year-old McHenry youth and a juvenile com pan ion were t aken in to custody by McHenry police for possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis. The police were called to a house at 1703 Pleasant because of a report of a suspicious auto. During the investigation, the youths and the cannabis were found. Raymond J. Roach, 17, of 1703 Pleasant, McHenry, was charged with possession of cannabis. Gary Peyerson, of 1622 Beach, McHenry, was arrested and charged with agg rava ted a s sau l t and being intoxicated on a roadway after he pushed and attempted to strike Sheriff's police. An au to speed ing and leading Sheriff's police on a chase with speeds of 100 mph ended with the arrest of Donald Stanek, 18, of 303 James street, Spring Grove. Stanek was charged with speeding, fleeing and at tempting to elude police and possession of cannabis. after one was seen loading a motorized concrete saw belonging to Company III of the McHenry Fire depart ment onto a trailer. He and another man, who was waiting in the truck towing the trailer, then left. McHenry County Sheriff's police, armed with a description of the vehicle, s topped the t ruck and arrested Scott Blakely, 21, of Mt. Prospect, and William Mackey, Jr., 25, of Barrington, for theft over $150. The truck and trailer had been stolen in Lake county and belonged to Thomas Chamberlain, of Wauconda. The Lake County Sheriff's department is investigating the theft of the vehicle. The Sheriff's police also inves t iga t ed a the f t a t McHenry County Well and Pump, 3200 N. Richmond road, McHenry, where it was reported that earlier in the day, two men had come to the bus ines s look ing fo r scrap metal. They were told to return when the owner was present. They did return and were seen loading a spool of electrical wiring into their "rusty green car" before they drove off. Someone broke into the McHenry V.F.W. at 3002 W. Route 120, McHenry, and used a hammer and chisel to open a safe. There was no money in the safe, which was destroyed. Two radios, a tape player and assorted sports equipment were stolen from a home at 4600 Stafford, McHenry, belonging to Walter Mazur. The communications room at Johnsburg high school, at 2002 Ringwood road, McHenry, was broken into and a 35 mm camera and flash unit stolen. Another 35 mm camera was stolen from the home of James Hansen, of 7618 Maplewood, McHenry. Also stolen was a clock radio and some jewelry. < An assortment of automotive tools and sup plies was taken from a garage at 5206 Flanders road, McHenry. The property belonged to Raymond Lary, of 5121 Fountain lane, McHenry. William Duda, of 4601 Stafford, McHenry , reported the theft of a radio, a pair of binoculars and two fishing rods and reels. The Sheriff's police in vestigated a theft at 5521 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake. From the home of Thomas Lyons, someone stole a clock, an antique trunk, a bed, a mirror, two chairs and a barbecue grill.
