Field events will get under way at 3:30 p.m. while the running events will start at 5 p.m. Little did Don Seaton realize fifteen years ago, when he suggested that McHenry host its own relays, that it would grow from that initial meet of just three teams, Dundee, Cary Grove and the Warriors into one of the finest events in this part of the state. ("The; Relays are popular with coaches, participants and fans alike as it is one of the few relays that many can take part. All field events Have three participants, with the exception of the pole- vault, which has two entries from each school. The only single or individual event in the running events is the open 100 yd. dash. Including the large number that can participate, the relays are popular because they are held at night, competition is keen, and it is probably one of the best organized meets in the state. Rarely has the meet finished more than 10 minutes late, which shows good organization. This year's event has probably the finest field in the 15 year history. Teams are, Belvidere,Crown, Crystal Lake Central and Crystal Lake South, Dundee, Elk Grove, Hoffman Estates, Kaneland, Lake Forest, Lake Park, Marengo, Naperville North, Rochelle, St. Charles, Woodstock and the host McHenrv. Naperville North, St. Charles, Kaneland, Hoffman Estates and Elk Grove are expected to vie for the top spot. If you have never seen a well organized track meet I suggest you attend one tonight at McCracken Field. Oak street, in Crystal Lake (one-half block north of Highway 176). "The Great Dinosaur Mystery" presents material which refutes the evolutionists' belief that dinosaurs have been extinct for 70 million years. Quite the contrary, the film shows that dinosaurs were on the earth as recently as 500 years ago and have close relatives still in existence today. This data contradicts the Geologic Time Table, one of the foundation stones of modern evolutionary theory. All residents of the area are invited to attend this showing. • * • • The optimist believes in luck; the pessimist, in fate.
