BRUSER and Sunnyside Area Betty Messer 344 2494 Meeting Held The village held it's regular monthly meeting recently at the Johnsburg Junior high. It was a busy meeting, as the board must prepare ap propriations for the coming fiscal year. In view of the increase in cost of spraying, dwindling funds and lack of response from villagers, the board opted riot to have mosquito ' abatement. Trustee Greg Nowak, of the building committe, gave the board the decision of the committee as to who.will be awarded the contract to erect the Municipal building. Five sealed bids were received and the committee chose Lakewood Framing of McHenry as having the best bid. A contract is being drawn up to start con struction. The finance committee is working on appropriations and tax levy for the fiscal year which begins May l, 1980, and ends April 30, 1981. A discussion was entered into on whether the location of K. K.'s weiner wagon is creating a hazard. To date, there have been no incidents reported involving a traffic problem because of the wagon. The next meeting of the village will be held Tuesday, May 20 at the Johnsburg Junior high. I POLICE NOTES The police department is busy issuing tickets for failure to display vehicle tags. The village ordinance states the sticker must be displayed in a conspicuous place on your vehicle to be driven on village streets. If you have your tag and it is not displayed on your vehicle, then you are subject to a $10 fine under ordinance 73-4. Failure to pay the fine will result in a court date. There are no exceptions. NEW ARRIVAL On Friday, April 25, a bouncing baby girl made her arrival in the Lehman family. Her name is Cassandra Marie and she weighed 10 lbs. on arrival. Her parents are Gayle and Jeff Ld^rnan. The p^oud grandparents are Betty'and Ed Lehman of Lakeview drive; long-time residents of the village. Cassandra is their first grandchild. Maternal grandparents are Claudia and Henry Gam of Wonder Lake, former village residents. Congratulations parents and grandparents. On June 1 the pack is going to Cantigny in Wheaton, 111., for a family outing. Cantigny is the former home of Robert McCormick. also on the grounds is the Cantigny War Memorial building and botanical gardens. . The Webelos will go on their summer father and son camp July 12 and 13. Pack 452 is a very active scout group. CHURCH SLAVE DAY Mt. Hope United Methodist church is having a Rent-A- Slave day Saturday, May 17 -(rain day, May 31) in which teams consisting of two people will come to any home and perform tedious chores at a nominal fee. If the team must provide their own equipment a one time additional charge is added. Washing windows, doing spring yard work, simple painting, basement and attic cleaning, grass cutting, storm window removal and screen replacement atod car washing are some of the things which i^will be available. There will be no spraying in this area! In fact, the spraying is being stopped in most sec tions and another means of ridding the area of the moths is being considered.
