STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD The Hunter Country club was the picturesque setting for the Spring luncheon of the Whispering Oaks Woman's club held on May 21. Each table was beautifully decorated with carnations which were taken home by some of the lucky ladies. Following the installation of officers by past president Irene Tice, the women were delightfully entertained by Ginny DeWyze's presen tation of the play, "THE GIFT". With everyone in a festive mood, it was a fun afternoon and proved to be a fitting climax for the last meeting of the club's year. Meeting Features May Crowning The Johnsburg Community club hall was the setting for a Mass, Corporate Communion, and May Crowning Monday, May 19, by St. Agatha Court No. 777 of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. Crowning of the Blessed Virgin was done by Laureen Kline of the juvenile court, while the girls and lady Foresters looked on. The girls then conducted their meeting and enjoyed, refreshments. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Friendship Club Enjoys Program 385-3093 Jeff Roberts provided the program for the evening when the Friendship club met recently in the Fellowship hall of the First United Methodist church. "Getting To Know You" could have been the title, as he gave a little background history of himself, which everyone found to be very informative and interesting. After singing the doxology, a delicious dinner was en joyed by the forty people in attendance. The meeting was called to order by President Elmer Stange, with words of welcome, and compliments to the ladies on the fine meal. The guest, Wildhagen's grandson, was introduced and received a warm welcome. An announcement was made of the U.M.W. "Shop and Share" program at a local supermarket on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday May 26-VJ8, and proceeds will go to the church Building fund. Everyone was urged to participate. Reverend Jeff Roberts, associate pastor, gave the Meditations "On Caring", followed by a Prayer of Concerns, and the singing of the hymn, "How Great TTiou Art". Happy birthday and happy anniversary was sung to aU members celebrating in May. Not to leave anyone out, as there will be no meetings in June, July and August, happy birthday and happy anniversary was also sung to everyone who will celebrate in those months. The outstanding anniversary will be the sixty-seventh wedding anniversary of Lilah and Bill Jordan on July 1Q. The next meeting of the Friendship club will be Saturday, Sept. 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship hall. The new rosters, menu and program schedules will be sent to members well in advance of the first Fall meeting. Members of the congregation fifty years old, and older, are invited and urged to come to Friendship club and enjoy the warm fellowship and good times enjoyed by all.
