Softball Warriors Bow From Sectional In Loss To Loves Park Harlem REGIONAL CHAMPS-The MCHS girls' Softball team won the Crystal Lake Regional plus the championship victory over Crystal Lake Sonth, the top seeded team in the 12-team regional*. Their tournament hopes ended in the first game of the sectional as Loves Park Harlem shut out the Warriors S4. Sitting from left are, Dale Williams. Colleen Byrne, Terri Bohlman and Chris Connell. In the center row are Tracy Bitterman, Donna Chester, Robin Geiger, Sue Haddtek, Karen Karpavicius, Jenny Prust and Pam West. Frosh- soph members added to the tournament squad are: Kelley Broderick, Joyce Jaskowiak, Cissy Plnkstaff, Eileen Smith, Tammy Sproull and Jodie Werhane. Pom-Pon Clinic Saturday For Grade School Girls In an exciting second game, Hautzinger Concrete scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat Simnyside Inn 13-11. Verfl Peterson led the winners going 4-5 and he also soared 3 runs. Mark Bentz followed with 3 hits and 2 runs scored. Don Prazak also had three hits and scored one run. Don Rode lead the losers with 3 hits in 4 at bats. He also scored 2 runs. The program is free to boys in the greater McHenry area ages 6 and 7, and will be headed by Mr. J. Lazalde, Mr. Richard Doherty and Mr. Tom Roach. The intent of the program is to introduce the boys to baseball and its fun­ damentals. Any boy in­ terested in participating should be at the little league diamond behind the V.F.W. Thursday, June 5 at 9 a.m. Ed Bonslett's. He came in bareheaded. Must be giving his hair the breeze. Ever friendly Tillie Engeln suffered painful burns in an accident, but has come up smiling. Crowds of people of all ages and from all walks of life found their way to his wake and funeral last week to pay their respects to his memory and to* his wife and children. A husky fellow, Bill was a good football player in his day. Many sportsmen found their way to his Duke Haven Hunt Club and Kennels located on River Road south of McHenry. < At the age of 51, Bill died too soon, but enjoyed the richness of having a host of friends. . Athletes ' Away Out of Norman University, Oklahoma comes word that Pat Stoffel has again distinguished herself in the world of sports. * Pat batted .455 in fast pitch competition and had ' no errors against her record. Once againe, Foxhole got balanced hitting and shutout pitching from Billy Meyers as they trounced Little John's 10-0. Meyers gave up just four hits in the win. Ron Miller led Fox Hole with 3 hits and 3 runs scored. Jim Yaworski, Denny Meyers, Vinnie Freund and Tom Hurckes followed with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
