St. Regis vs. Brake Parts -8:30 Game St. Regis ended the un defeated streak of Brake Parts as they came away with the win, and outscored Brake Parts 17-3. Although Brake Parts managed to score three runs in the third, and Dot Kupstis had some nice defensive moves, it was not enough to hold the fired- up St. Regis team. St. Regis was in total control Shannon was able to out ,hroughout lhe 8ame. as bpannon was ame to put ,hey capitalized on their 20 hits and played errorless River Shannon vs. Nolan Liquors - 6:30 Game Despite a slow start by River ^Sliannon, they were able to defeat Nolan Liquors 8-1. Oaks defense was flawless until the top of the fourth, when Wayne's found some holes, and scored four Legion Loses Controversial Away Games The legion nine look three Connie Mack losses in the past week, losing to Genoa 4- 3 on Friday and succumbing to Dekalb in a Sunday doubleheader. Although the legion record has dropped to 2-9 in Connie Mack play, they still hold a five win, no loss mark in the legion conference. • In Genoa, the McHenry defeat came with the help of three costly flyballs that were lost in the lights. Coach Russ Williams said he thinks the light fixtures are too low in Genoa for high fly balls. He plans to lodge a protest with the league to have the game replayed. McHenry collected only four hits in the game, but 4 managed three runs . Tom Maxson was one for one in the contest and gathered in two RBIs for McHenry. Pitcher Chuck Dixon look the loss, giving up eight hits in six innings. In Sunday's doubleheader against Dekalb, McHenry lost the first game in the bottom of the tenth with the score tied 5-5 earlier on a seventh-inning two-run McHenry rally. In the tenth with a man on third, Dekalb pulled a suicide squeeze on a pitch out. The batter lunged across the plate to bunt the ball and the controversy began. Coach Williams claimed that the batter had stepped out of the batter's box, but the umpire disagreed apd the game ended at 6-5. Tom Maxson took the loss on the controversial pitch out in relief of Chuck Dicker. McHenry outhit Dekalb eight jno seven with eight different players collecting them. In the second game it was all Dekalb as pitcher Dave Colberg look his first loss of the season in an 11-2 defeat.
