Other major characters are Bernardo, Maria's brother and shark gang leader, portrayed by Dave Lindquist of McHenry, Anita, Bernardo's girl friend, played by Stacey Heuvelman of Richmond and Riff, the Jet gang leader, played by Jim Martine of Woodstock.
