It was a huge celebration with good food, plenty to drink and lots of fun and games. It started with a decorated bike and buggy contest. There were three categories, and in the 9-16 age group, winners were 1st, Todd Parks; 2nd Marcy Seifert; and 3rd Marcus Seifert. Second category was 0-8 age group. First prize went to Cari Ann Wymen 2nd, Todd Lasco and 3rd place was tied between Gina Dameano and Tara Parks. There were two winners in the buggy contest. They were 1st place, Joy Miller and 2nd place, Amy Weisenberger. Another game held was the bubble gum contest. Bobby Raycraft and Kim Johnson were the winners. Frank Branchave and Betty Dodd ate the most pie, and both were filled to the brim. Later, a wonderful dance, with great entertainment, went on into the night. BEACH GALS EXERCISE The Sept. 3 meeting, which will begin at 7:15 p.m., is going to be filled with a lot of excitement. Elections for vice-president and treasurer will be held, and then the Beach Gals and other women of the village in­ terested in learning a fun way to shape up will have an aerobic dancing demon­ stration. A professional dancing instructor, will show the way to stay in shape. All women of the village are welcome to come. This will give everyone a great opportunity to meet other women from community clubs of McHenry. Don't forget Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 p.m., at the McCullom Lake Beach house. Two people shared Aug. 23, Henrietta Donkel and Georgette Turner. On Aug. 24, Carol Drake, Janice Groh and Micky Orton shared the day. Brian White was another year older the following day. Bill Wymen celebrated his big day Aug. 26. On the twenty-eighth of August, Ricky Wolf is another year older. Aug. 29 brings another birthday for Jennifer Grutzmacher. On Aug. 30, three people share the day. They are, Dave Scarbrough, Michael Turner and Beth White. "Happy Birthday" to all of you. BETTER LATE Aug. 16 was very special for Robert and Clemencia Fernandez, because on that day they were married 27 years. The community hopes that both of you had a wonderful anniversary. WELCOME HOME Gertrude Helwig visited her sister-in-law, Lorraine Ritter of Lakeland Park. If any of you remember, Gertrude was a 12-year resident of the village, and hasn't returned in 15 years. Lorraine took Gertrude for a ride through the village and she was amazed to see all of the changes. She commented that the changes, especially in the houses, are for the better. Gertrude sends her lpve and regards to her friends in the village. GET WELL Fred Fardinardo, a two year resident of the village, went into McHenry hospital this past week. He is reported to be feeling fairly well by his daughter, Cindy Martini and is expected home by the end of the week. Hope to see you on your feet soon Fred. ANNIVERSARIES Aug. 20, Frank and Joan Branham were married an­ other year. Richard and Phyllis White celebrated their big day Aug. 23. Hope both couples had great days to remember.
