Following the liturgy, a reception was held at the Johnsburg Community club for 275 relatives and friends. After a honeymoon trip through Wisconsin and Minnesota, the newlyweds are residing in Mcllenry. The new Mrs. Swantz is employed as a secretary for Kemper Insurance, and her husband is a carpenter for J. S. The former Patricia Gail Blanco, 17 W. Lake street, Easthampton, Mass., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Blanco, 3013 N. B street, Tampa, Fla., ex changed promises of marriage with Mark Allen Motulewicz, 245 Pinion street Rock Springs, Wyo., son of Mrs Burton Annis, 7618 Center drive, Wonder Lake, and the late Edward Motulewicz, before" Pastor John R. Smith Oct. 4. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed in Child's Park Garden House, Nor thampton, Mass., and ap propriate background music w*as provided by Lenny Jlesrocher, soloist. The bride wore a white full length polyester jersey gown, enhanced with im ported silk venice lace. It featured a Queen Anne neckline, shirred waist, sheer bishop sleeves and a softly flowing skirt culminating in an attached chapel train. She chose a white ballerina length veil of silk illusion, trimmed with venice lace to match the gown. She carried a bouquet of blue miniature carnations and daisies, laced with blue and purple statice, cascaded with baby's breath and ivy. The bride's sister, Debra Allen of Tampa, Fla., was the matron of honor. She was attired in a formal length steel blue, polyester jersey gown. The fitted bodice, accented with top stitching at the V-neck, was highlighted with cape sleeves. A sash at the em pire waist, tied in back, accentuated the detailing in front and back of the prin cess line skirt. She carried a colonial bouquet of blue miniature carnations, daisies, blue and purple statice and baby's breath. The duties of best man were handled by the groom's brother, Wayne Motulewicz of Denver, Colo. The mother of the bride tchose a formal length sky blue polyester jersey gown with a fitted bodice, featuring a sheer blouson overlay, Svedding ring neckline and cape sleeves, accented with a circular skirt. A teal blue lace formal gown with an empire waist, fitted bodice featuring a boat neckline and handkerchief sleeves, was the choice of the groom's mother. Following the ceremony, a garden reception was held for forty friends and relatives. Out of town guests included a sister of the groom, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Yegge of Monroe City, Mo.; the groomis aunt, Mrs. George Kwiatkowski of Chicago; and parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Annis of Wonder Lake. The bride received an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy from St. Petersburg college, St. Petersburg, Fla. and is employed as a Physical Therapist assistant. The gryom attended . Medical Institute of Minnesota, Ferris State college, Michigan and Northwestern Colorado Community college. He is a Program Director and Instructor of Radiologic Sciences at Western Wyoming college. A dinner reception will be held at Chapel Hill Country club for over 100 guests when the newlywefls are in McHenry Saturday, Oct. 11. Lorie Merrill of Wonder Lake will perform vocal entertainment. The couple will be spending the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Annis, on their way to their new home in Rock Springs, Wyo. i Attendant Of Bride Designed Wedding Gown As Beth Ann Jablonski approached the altar of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church, McHenry, Oct. 4, to become the bride of Robert James Roudebush, she was wearing a gown designed and made by her matron of honor, which she had worn at her own wed ding. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Jablonski, 1502 N. Court, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roudebush, 817 Carter street, Genoa City, Wis., are the parents of the groom. The 2:30 p.m. liturgy was celebrated by Father Gaynor, who was assisted by servers, Jack and Jim Jablonski, brothers of the bride. Special music in cluded "Sunrise, Sunset", "One Hand, One Heart", "The Wedding Song" and "Ave Maria" sung by Craig Spengel, accompanied by Mrs. Marian Nelson, organist. The bride's gown was fashioned of crepe back satin, with an overlay of angel wing chiffon, accented with scattered lace motifs. The bodice was styled with a scoop ruffled neckline and long chiffon sleeves ending in ruffles at the wrists. From the empire waistline, a full skirt swept into a chapel length train which featured a deep flounce at the hemline. A crown of white roses, carnations and baby's breath held a chiffon veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and baby's breath. A sister of the bride, Patti Sagers, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Connie Shelley and Cathy Jablonski, sisters of the bride; Debbie Romozzi, a cousin of the bride; and a friend of the bride, Judy Stoffel. Attendants were attired in floor length quiana knit gowns highlighted with a halter top, empire waistline, pleated skirt and enhanced with a matching lace cape. The matron of honor chose shrimp for her color and the bridesmaids' color was copper. The best man was Steve O'Brien of Lake Geneva, Wis., a friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Matt O'Brien of Lake Geneva, Wis. and Curt Marzahl of Elkhorn, Wis., both friends of the groom; Tom Jablonski of McHenry, a brother of the bride; and Dave Sagers of McHenry, a brother-in-law of the bride. Ushers were Mike Jablonski, a brother of the bride, and Kenny Reed, the groom's uncle. The mother of the bride chose a peach colored quiana knit, calf length dress with matching coat. A dusty rose floor length, double knit dress with long sleeves was the choice of the groom's mother. The McHenry Country club was the setting for a reception for 110 guests. When the newlyweds return from a wedding trip to Hawaii, they will make their home at 1504 N. Court, McHenry. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in May, 1976 and from Moser Secretarial school, Chicago <in December, 1976. She is employed as a secretary at Littlefuse, Inc., Des Plaines. The groom is a 1977 graduate of Badger high school, Lake Geneva, and plans to attend college and obtain a degree in Mechanical Engineering. "Beginning Day" preceded the busy month with a brunch at the home of Joan Cornwell in Holiday Hills. Committee reports of the events for the coming year were discussed. The Year Book committee, Dee Boeka, chairman, Fawn Vail and Carol Ridlen displayed the exciting new year book, which was presented as a permanent property to each member. Guests were Alice Snell, a transferee, and Marilyn Knutilla, a prospective new member. Karen Colomer and Lorene Farr compiled the program books for the new year entitled, "It's a Crewel, Crewel World, or Xi Kappa Iota's How To Do It Book". As a requirement for the Exemplar degree, the chapter designed and organized its own program content. Each member is responsible for a special craft to be shared with her sisters and each one will not only be listening but really learning t5 do each craft. The program material was approved by letter from the international office. The first September meeting was held at the home of Fawn Vail in Round Lake. Fawn gave the program on ceramics, and each member participated in the first stage of creating her own ceramic art. Ann Macey, a former member, was reinstated into active membership status. The second September meeting was held at the home of Linda Jachino, McHenry. The highlight of the evening was the ritual of the Exemplar degree bestowed upon Alice Snell, a tran sferee from a Waukegan chapter. Virge Stasiak, president, conducted the ritual. Sept. 20 marked the first anniversary of Xi Kappa Iota as an Exemplar chapter. In honor of the occasion, a beautifully decorated anniversary cake was presented by Dee Boeka, co-hostess for the meeting. The chapter received a 3- star rating for 1979-1980, and plans to retain it for the coming year's theme, "Sharing Golden Dreams". The year 1981 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Beta Sigma Phi organization, originating in Abilene, Kans. on April 30, 1931. Fawn Vail was ap pointed Golden Anniversary coordinator, who will report on all anniversary events. The program was led by Linda Jachino, entitled "Door Decoration". She displayed various already completed decorations, and gave out instructions for the construction of several. The September scene was concluded with a 50's party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Karen) Colomer. High school memories were present in 50's attire and soc- hop music - and even those old year books. Members and guests enjoyed the social evening. Report Club Activities During a recent executive board session of the Town and Country Newcomers club, president Nancy John received reports on several i m p o r t a n t a c t i v i t i e s scheduled for club members. Program vice-president Debbie Hommeland an nounced that the schedule for the Oct. 14, Tuesday evening meeting at St. Paul's Episcopal church, at 7:30, will begin with a short business - discussion at the church, followed by an 'exercise and fitness' presentation with both demonstration and par ticipation by club members, at a local women's exercise shop. Social chairperson and hostess of the board meeting, Jill Leonard, relayed the information of the couples' dinner outing tentatively scheduled for later this month. Those interested in attending should sign up with Mrs. Leonard. Other decisions were also made to complete the club's calendar committments for the rest of the club year. A morning coffee will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 9:30 a.m., at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, McHenry. At the conclusion of the board's meeting, those present gave approval to scheduling certain coming Fall and Winter events: a 'silent auction' in November (a mini-bazaar of handmade or homegrown items) and a Christmas cookie and or nament exchange in December. Visitors are especially welcome at the next meonthly meeting as the club continues its Fall membership drive. Mem- berhip in the Newcomers club is not limited to a particular geographical location or length of residence in the area, but to anyone who wishes to par ticipate in the club activities. Hold Kick-Off Dinner Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600 and their Ladies Auxiliary annual mem bership kick-off dinner will be held Sunday, Qpl. 19, at the post home on Route 120. The Auxiliary Mem bership chairman and chairman for the dinner, Ila Hogan, states the requirement to attend the dinner is to have paid dues for the year 1981. Dues may be paid at the door the night of the dinner. Mary Fergen and Barb Bryniarski will serve as co- chairmen for the evening The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner to be served at 7, and there will be a small charge. Reservations for the dinner are requested by Oct. 13, and may be made by calling Mrs. John (Ila) Hogan, Ringwood. Seniors Make Crafts When a Christmas bazaar and bake sale draws crowds to the McHenry Moose lodge on Route 120 Wednesday, Oct. 15, all of the craft items displayed will have been fashioned by senior citizens of the area.
