The topic this week is "Self Love". In this week's article, I , would like to do something which may at first seem shocking to many of my readers. What I would like to do is to invite and encourage you to begin to have an in­ tense, passionate love affair. Not only am I going to recommend that you have an affair, but I am even going to be audacious enough to tell you with whom to have this affair. The person I am going to suggest is someone who is very close to you. They are in dire need of your love, devotion, support and encouragement. This person is yoursef. . Surprised? You shouln't be, for self love is the basis for all other forms of love and it is something we all need and deserve. Now when I am talking about loving yourself I am not implying mere self-acceptance, which is often just taking the at­ titude "well I guess I am okay." What I am suggesting is something more passionate, something with a bit more juice. A fun way to start your journey towards developing a more loving attitude towards yourself is to make the following experiment. Pretend for one day that you are your own lover. Wake UD in the morning and tell yourself how much you love and appreciate yourself. Make or take yourself out for a marvelous breakfast because you deserve the best. For the rest of the day treat yourself with nothing but care and affection, as if you were someone you loved and cared for very much. If you are like most people you will find this experiment a delight. Self love can get you higher than any drug or alcohol and it's a lot cheaper too. You may find that you will begin to consider the possibility of having a life long passionate love affair with the only person you can ever depend on totally - yourself!
