The prospective groom, son of Mrs. B. J. Alderson of McHenry and A. E. Alderson of Wheaton, graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1967. He then served as a german linguist with the U.S. Army Security Agency in West Berlin, Germany, until 1974. He received a B.S. and M.S. in 1977 from Northern Illinois university and also obtained a M.A. in 1980 from the University of Illinois. A December wedding is planned in Ereeport. International Dinner Slated There will be an In­ ternational dinner open to every member and 45-day card carrier of Parents Without Partners on Wed­ nesday. Oct. 22. at the Old World village. Married At St. John's St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, was the setting for the 1 p.m , Oct. 11 ceremony uniting in marriage the former. .Nancy Sompel and Jess W. Inman. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sompel. 3711 N. Spring Grove road, McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Inman, Jr., 505 Maplewood, Antioch, are the parents of the groom. Reverend Leo J. Bartel officiated at an altar decorated with bouquets of white and purple flowers. Special music, performed by Don Reinboidt, included "The -Lord's JPrayer", "Wedding Song", Prayfer of St. Francis" and "Ave Maria". The bride chose a floor length gown of white silk organza, enhanced with venise lace over bridal mist taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a high neckline and long, full, Juliet sleeves. The skirt featured an A-line front and back fullness, falling into a chapel length train. Her headpiece was a lace edged, imported illusion fingertip veil. She carried a cascade of white carnations, white roses and fuji chrysanthemums. A sister of the bride, Betty Sompel of McHenry, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Carol Scholle of McHenry and Louise Sompel of Crystal Lake. Karen Inman of Antioch, a sister of the groom was a junior bridesmaid. Attendants were attired in grape pana-glo fabric gowns, styled with a slightly draped bodice, fully draped in the back, and a full circle skirt. The junior bridesmaid wore a plum brandy dress accented with a scoop neck blouson bodiee and a circle skirt of lustre-glo. The duties of best mai\ were handled by a brother of the groom, Gary Inman of Antioch. Groomsmen were Rodney Inman of Antioch, a brother of the groom; and Rick Sompel of McHenry, a brother of the bride. Ushers were the bride's brother, Dan Sompel and the bride's brother-in-law, Matt Scholle, both of McHenry. Th% mother of the bride chose a dusty pink quiana sleeveless gown with a high neck and full circle skirt, highlighted" with a chiffon capelet studded with seed pearls. A plum brandy color gown with a scoop neck blouson style and circle skirt of lustre-glo was the choice of the groom's mother. A reception was held at the American Legion, McHenry for 100 friends and relatives. The new Mrs. Inman graduated from McHenry Community high school and is presently an office manager for Clifford C h r y s l e r P l y m o u t h , Libertyville. Her husband is a graduate of Antioch high school and is currently employed by Ball cor­ poration, Mundelein. The couple will be making their home in McHenry. The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower hosted by her sisters. Dance Honors Squads At McHenry hospital's anniversary dinner dance on Saturday, Oct. 18, a total of fourteen area rescue squads will be awarded citations for "long term saves" of victims in danger of death who survived and were later discharged from the hospital. The squads' application of Advanced Life Support systems, under the radio- communicated orders of an Emergency department physician, have been credited with having saved the victims' lives. Tickets to the dinner dance may be ordered by calling the hospital's public in­ formation office, 385-2200, extension 622. Meeting Features Party The next meeting of the Wonder Lake Senior Citizen's club, on Oct. 20, will feature a Halloween party. Members are urged to come- in costume and masks. Prizes will be awarded for the most original or comical costume and also to the one who brings the best carved pumpkin. Refreshments will include doughnuts, apples and coffee. Blood pressures will be taken for all senior citizens of Wonder Lake, during the meeting, and non-members are eligible to receive the service. All seniors of the area are welcome to attend the meeting and see the fun the group enjoys playing their favorite games, and spending an afternoon of good fellowship. Arrangements are being made for a Christmas party to be held Dec. 19. Any member wishing to help on the committee should c o n t a c t c h a i r p e r s o n , A n n Schupoliski, 728-0243. A bazaar is being planned for Dec. 1, to raise funds to help assist with the expense of the Christmas party and everyone is urged to cooperate. The various committees would appreciate offers of help from anyone willing to donate their time. Club Hears Talk Program The program casts Lyman in the dual role of scientist and magician. As both, he conjures up some magic to explain and demonstrate some of the practical science being used by Bell labs, the research arm of the Bell system, to meet com­ munications needs of the future. What does the strength of an egg shell have to do with transoceanic telephone cable? Why is the generation and transmission of light rays important to the future of communications? These questions and many others will be answered in the presentation. WALT LYMAN Illinois Bell's talk program, "Science Is Not Magic", will be presented by Walt Lyman at the Monday, Oct. 27 dinner meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens, to be held at the West Campus high school cafeteria in McHenry, at 6 p.m. Invite Public To Quilt Show The public is invited to a friendly, interesting and informative day at the "Needle and Shuttle" show to be held at the First Congregational church, 461 Pierson street. Crystal Lake on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The show, sponsored by the F.C.C. Women's Fellowship, will have on display a variety of old and new quilts and quilted hangings, woven coverlets, bedspreads, and hangings. One of the special features will be a hand-woven coverlet of an old draft known as "Christian Ring" submitted by Mrs. Pearl Norton Ktffechlein of McHenry, from the family of her grandmother, Emily Vosburg Norton, 1847-1918. ST. Father Leo Bartel celebrated the 3 p.m. liturgy at St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg. A reception for 375 guests was held at the V.F.W. in McHenry. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1974 and works at Northern Illinois Medical association, in the Insurance Claims department. The groom is a 1970 graduate of Marian Central high school and is a self-employed carpenter. MR. AND MRS. DAVID LEBRECHT WISCONSIN HONEYMOON -- Mr. and Mrs. David Lebrecht are residing at 1701 Rogers avenue. McHenry, after a honeyoon in Wisconsin. The former Cynthia Ann Rasbaugh, daughter of David and Diane Rasbaugh, 2507 Highwood road, McHenry and David Charles Lebrecht, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lebrecht, 3121 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, were married Sept. 20, at 3 p.m., in Christ the King church, Wonder Lake. A reception was held at the American Legion, where 120 guests toasted the newlyweds. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1980. The groom, a 1977 graduate of the same high school, attended McHenry Community college two years and is employed as a mechanic. Card Party Planned The plans have been completed for St. Patrick's Ladies' Guild Fall Dessert Card party on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m., in the church hall. The desserts are not in the ovens yet, but all the "good bakers have come to the aid of the par­ ty". Committee chairmen and members include Margaret Datz, Martha Dignan, Mary Ann Wegener, Mary Ann Sharp, Leone Lawrence, Helen Koblitz, Claire Miller, Kay Del Genio, Jo Rizzo, Dolores Belohavy, Marge Conklin, June Mueller, Pat Walters, Vi Rich, Rita White, Luella Braidman, Irene Rieger, Marion Longfield, Jeanette Bishop and Mary Jean Lahs. Foresters Set Meeting The next regular meeting of St. Agatha No. 777 of the Ntional Catholic Society of Foresters will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m., in the Johnsburg Community club hall. Members will discuss plans for the Pancake Breakfast which will be held Oct. 26, in the Johnsburg Community club hall.
