Box 205 • Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014 • (815)459-2641 Fall is the time of year when many pets tend to wander away from the yard or break from a chain. It is most important that animal owners put a collar and identification tag with their phone number on the pet. In the case of a kitten or cat, a soft elastic band or flea collar with adn Id on it and phone number is a must. Should they stray away, and someone finds them, a phone call can be made to the owner. It is a very traumatic experience for pets to be lost and picked up by strangers. Helping Paws receives many calls of lost and found animals and identification would certainly make HP's task easier. If Animal Control is called to pick up a lost animal with no ID, a charge is made to the animal owner before they can retrieve their pet. ID tags may be purchased at the Helping Paws office, and the animal would be reigstered with HP. Animal Control also urges rabies tap be displayed on pets at all times. Please 'tag' all pets now!! Helping Paws is also having a bake sale, Saturday, Oct. 25, along with the regular bazaar at Crystal Point Mall Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26. Donations of home baked goods will indeed be appreciated. Please call 455- 4769 for details. All pet adoptions must be validated by the signing of a contract along with the adoption fee, which includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery from a Vet of HP's choice, or a deduction from the cost of the surgery if done by a Vet of your choice. One par rot's cage was kept in the kitch en, and the bird began to gurgle like a dishwasher, reports Na tional Geographic World. 10 • • MR WOW OMOTjwll > MODELS SOME WITH I mmirn / F OPTIOH TO WW \ 11 SEE NIEMANN WATER CONDITIONINC (DIV.
