SUCTION 2 - V/USK 2 - PLA1NDKALKR - FRIDAY. NOVEMBKR7. II fflSHKS Zy , i... . V? %'jfc 'JrMi VMM f m*>4 • ' * Wonder Lake Bible Church Each week I am reminded that our wonderful Lord offers many "fringe benefits" that accompany salvation. Some of these benefits' are listed inPsalm 103:1-5. It is my firm conviction that, everything else being equal, the contented believer in Christ will live longer, feel better, and enjoy life far more, in every wholesome way, than his neighbor who doesn t fear the Lord, nor trust His dear Son. Home life is far more congenial for the Redeemed of the Lord, that is, if they allow the love of God to rule in their hearts and lives. Thank the Lord for all His 'fringe benefits'. 7501 HOWE DRIVE, WONDER LAKE, ILLINOIS Alliance Bible Church 3«15 W. Bull Valley Rd. Rev. Smith of McHenry for receiving the district award of merit at the Kishwaukee district's annual appreciation banquet held Sunday, Nov. 2, in Crystal Lake. Mrs. Smith is shown with her husband. John F. Smith of 903 N. Green street, McHenry, was awarded the district Award of Merit by Len Scheel at the annual appreciation banquet of the Kishwaukee district, held Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Branded Steak House, Crystal Lake. "Every Boy Scout pack, troop and post needs a back bone - an individual who will handle behind-the-scenes matters wisely and carefully. It is John Smith who is a mainstay in Troop 131 and Scouting in the Kish waukee district, and a most deserving recipient of our district award of merit". Those were the words of Stewart Hoak as he sub mitted the name of the McHenry Scout leader to vie for the award. For the past 11 years Smith has performed the duties of pack com mitteeman, activities chairman, Webelos den leader, assistant Scout master, troop committee chairman, and camping chairman. The invocation was given by the Rev. Ralph Smith of the First United Methodist church, McHenry. For his address to the assembled Scouts, Charles Buenger spoke on the topic, "Our Opportunity - A Challenge", lonely and isolated lives as occurrence. It is not the cope with problems when they do arise. You will be able to tell yourself that problems just "come with the territory", rather than viewing problems as a sign that there is something terribly wrong with yourself or your family.
