D make a Seek Physician For Health Board CANDLELIGHT SERVICE The Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian church will hold a candlelight communion service at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Christmas eve. One of the responsibilities of the McHenry County board is the appointment of members of the Board of Health for McHenry county. By law, two members of the Board of Health must be physicians licensed to practice medicine in Illinois. Applications for one of the two physician positions are According to state law, the Board of Health is the policy making body for the County Health department. They meet monthly to review expenditures, activities, problems, and proposed changes in policy which may i n c l u d e a d d i t i o n a l programming. Every member of the Board of Health is appointed to one or more committees of the Board of Health which meet on an as needed basis. These committees normally meet two or three times a year. One of the respon­ sibilities of the Board of Health is the submission of a budget to the County board. This budget is prepared by staff and reviewed by the Board of Health Finance committee which makes a recommendation to the Board of Health, which in turn makes a recom­ mendation to the County Board of Health and Agriculture committee. Board of Health members serve without remuneration, but will have their expenses paid if attending meetings out of county on behalf of the Board of Health. Any physician interested in serving on the Board of Health should contact the County board room at 338- 2040, extension 221.
