CO-SPONSORS AMENDMENT Congresswoman Lynn Martin (R-Ill.) has co- sponsored a resolution calling for a Constitutional amendment requiring the federal government to balance its budget. Hie high school youth at the Chain O' Lakes Evangelical Covenant church have spent the past two and one-half months st weeft class. studying the subject during a weekly Sunday morning Through some informative tapes, which were recorded at a meeting in the Minneapolis area, many thought-provoking realities have been brought to the youths' attention. A church spokesman said, "Specific rock groups have been mentioned and some of their satanic practices have been revealed. The use of subliminal techniques in the recording processes have been discussed. There has alto been information regarding items of jewelry that have meanings contrary to Christian beliefs." A guest speaker was present last Sunday to speak on the subject. He was involved in a local rock group and has recently left the group to become a member erf a contemporary, Christian, music group, Gospel Light. Tne youth have been encouraged to evaluate the groups to which they listen in regard to moral issues in both the lyrics and the album covers, and the religious practices they promote. As an alternative, many good Christian groups have been recommended.
