After watching the behavior of Notre Dame fans against U.C.L.A. what can you say to high school students. We don't condone that kind of behavior, but we must live with it It is the sign of the times. To say the least, the caliber of basketball Friday night wm not what ym wotiiri expect near the end of the season. Sixty-four turnovers in a game Is quite a few. Turnovers don't count in the score book. However, as one Warrior fan said, "We will take a win any way we can" The Warriors are at Crown tonight. Crown is looking for some recognition from the Chicago j»pers, they are 19-1, and feel neglected from the press take it out on the Warriors hope they don't The scoring race in the Fox Valley is between any of the five leaders at the present time. Gary Gliesman of Crown has a record of 361, and it looks as if it will stand this year. It will take a 40 point average over the next four games to erase that mark, and it doesn't seem like it will be done this year. Pat Wirtz' girls team has improved greatly over the season. They defeated Jacobs last week, and were tied with Woodstock at the end of three quarters. Then eight missed free throws in the final period led to their downfall. Again a tip of the fedora to Brian Wrona who won the 119 pound championship in the Fox Valley Conference last weekend at Crystal Lake South. With a 26 win 2 lost and 1 tie, the young lad was not even seeded number one in the conference. I know coach Marty Sobczak could not understand that one, but he is quite happy with the results on Saturday evening. Going down memory lane we go back to the 1970-71 season when the Warriors avenged an earlier defeat at the hands of Crystal Lake, by winning 62 to 48.
