CALIFORNIA REPEAT Gloria and John Cassell had five very busy days starting March 3, when they flew to Hemet, Cal., to visit Bessie Scott, Gloria's mother-in-law. That delightful lady is 81 years young, taking care of a little boy every day and "an old lady of 89" (her own words), every night. Mrs. Scott drove John and Gloria tbrouah the San Bernadino National Forest, reaching the small town of Idlewild at the summit. Every turn in the road showed a different soeoe, each more exciting and breathtaking than the last. Gloria and John located former Lakemoor residents Shirley and Jean NichoUs in Beaumont. They left our area about 18 years ago, and send regards to anyone who remembers their time spent here. The flight was stimulating for Gloria, as flying always is to her. When they were over the Grand Canyon, the pilot asked for ground clearance to give the icn muii MIS day. / people of card Semi-Annual HOSIERY SALE Ends Sunday, March 22 Hur ry And Save Up To 37% on Hose , Socks , Leo ta rds , T igh ts & More . One of the topics discussed was signs. New street signs and stop signs are needed and will be put up sometime soon as the existing signs are in such disrepair. Also, people have been speeding, so maybe the new signs will refresh their memory that the village speed limit is 20 mph. There is going to be a special meeting called by the Planning Commission March 31, 7:30 p.m. at the Beach House. The public is welcome. The issue to be discussed is the land between the village and Flanders road. It's that open field that runs parallel with West Orchard drive. Lydia's Orphanage owns that parcel of land and is requesting annexation to the village. They would like to sell the land in half acre parcels for building homes. All village residents are welcome to come to this meeting. Village vehicle stickers are to be purchased and displayed by March 31, which is coming up soon. Leslie Curran, our village clerk's hours are as follows: Wednesdays and Thursdays 2 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m. I urge you to display your stickers or you may be ticketed. Also, elections are coming up April 7. This will be a multiple election, so don't forget to vote. It is your right.
