All residents are en­ couraged to come so that you can be properly informed before going to the polls to vote April 7. HOUSE WALK At the March 19 meeting of the Woman's club of Wonder The four homes are: The Alan Breuer home, 8218 Howe road; Joanne Heinly home, 4134 W. Lake Shore drive; George Brinkmann home, 3129 E. Lake Shore drive; and, the Dr. Gregory Daly home* 3206 Pleasant drive. They are four distinctly different homes which should delight all those who take the tour. Tickets will go on sale after April 23 from any club member or may be bought at any of the homes on the day of the House Walk. BAKE SALE The Firemen's Auxiliary of Company 2 will hold its annual pre-Easter bake sale Saturday, April 11, from 10 to 5 p.m. at the firehouse, located on Thompson road in Highland Shores. This would give you a chance to have your Easter baking done for you and placed in the freezer out of the way until you need it on Easter. SPECIAL DAYS "Happy Birthday" to one of my favorite men, my big brother, Joe Sullivan, March 26. March 27 will find Cherie Spencer, of White Oaks Bay, celebrating her birthday Bob Wagner, son of Dr. Merrill and Rosemary Wagner, will be celebrating his 12th birthday March 31. SHOW The students at Green­ wood school have been working very hard, along with their P.E. teacher, Mrs. Gudauskas, getting ready for a display of their talents Tuesday, April 7, at 1 p.m. All classes from kin­ dergarten to fifth will be performing something different. It is always in­ teresting to see the progression of skills as the children advance from one grade to the next. The show is open to the public, but get there early because the gym fills up fast! PLEASANT SURPRISE Every once in a while, you receive an unexpected surprise that brightens your day. That happened to me last week I received a letter from Marilyn McMahon telling me that she enjoyed my column. The letter came from Kirbyville, Mo., where the McMahons now live after moving away from Wonder Lake. Marilyn says they miss the Lake and keep up on all the latest through reading the Plaindealer. Sue Dehn. Boys Basketball Captain, Chuck Novy. Twoys were awarded Most Valuable Players - Rick Neiss and Tom Pieper. JOHN'S SCHOOL St. John's Eighth grade boys basketball team are the champions of the Fox Valley Catholic conference. The team will finish the season with a 19-7 record. This gives them first place in their division and second place in the conference. The finale for the team, was the Foresters tournament Team members are: Eighth grade, center, Tom Meehan; forwards, Mike Haag and Mike Majercik; guards, Mark Majercik and John Gallagher Seventh grade, guards, Bill Pfef- ferkorn and Bill Comstock; forwards, Matt Blake and George Frisch. The boys'. coach, Don Bentz, can be proud of a team of terrific sportsmen. The Girls' volleyball team, is also in first place as of this date. Keep up the good work! The "Friends of St. John's School" are sponsoring a Fun Night Saturday, March 28, 7 to 11 p.m., to be held at the Johnsburg Community club. Proceeds are to help defray the cost of the new school roof. Help is needed for this function; if interested call 385-4737 for information. On Tuesday, March 17, in the two and three-year-old class, the children made shamrocks from clay in honor of St. Patrick's day THE JUNIOR HIGH ...Outdoor club collected $500 in pledge money during the Skiathon held in February. The students skied in sub-zero weather for this endeavor. Proceeds will be given to the Johnsburg Rescue Squad. The next fund raiser is a pop bottle drive March 28 Please be generous when they come to your house It's a terrific way to rid your garage of all those bottles which have accumulated over the winter.
