Call "Meals on Wheels", a program sponsored by the churches in the area under the headship of Mrs Lillian Bolger of McHenry. Local area residents using this service include Mrs. Ruth Carlin. who for many years had a small store in Lakemoor, recuperating Mrs. Helen Statler and Peter Reiland. The meals are prepared at the McHenry hospital and delivered by church member* as a part of their Christian outreach program. Another plus for a caring community PRO-AM BOWLING March 10 found 36 McHenry area bowlers traveling to Milwaukee for the Pro-Am Bowling com­ petition Local residents included Peggy and Bill Hendricksen, Linda and Mike Schmitt, and Laurie and Mike Hertel Doug Alheit and Joe Szamlewski went along as the cheering section Each amateur bowler was teamed up with a pro­ fessional for the three- game event No records were broken, but the group had a marvelous time. Peggy bowled badly-she wouldn't tell the score-the first two games. Her Pro- partner said, "You have to bowl better, because my mother's name is Peggy, too". There are so few areas left where birds and animals are given protection, it is everyone's concern to be aware of those who would kill and destroy. Parks have been set aside as a haven for our wild creatures, where any human may come, watch, study and just enjoy some of God's creatures.
