One couple re cently found a cat staring at them through the sliding doors, which made itself at home when they approached it. Another time, a puppy that had outgrown its puppy-size collar was dropped off in the driveway. A neighbor heard a vehicle in the driveway and a few minutes later saw this puppy almost get hit by a car crossing the road in front of their house If the neighbor had gotten the license number of the vehicle that dropped off the puppy, those people would have been subject to a fine, since it is illegal to "dump" animals in Illinois The volunteers had to find homes for the puppy and the stray cat because they already have several pets of their own and no facilities for strays Please -- if you need to find a home for a cat or dog, try to adopt it out through Helping Paws, call WIVS, place ads in the newspapers, and consider taking it to Animal Control < they will keep the animal for a period of time in an effort to place it in a home) Dumping an animal at someone's home is cruel The animal is frightened and may be hit by a car or may not find food and shelter as his owner had hoped Don't assume the animal is in good hands because it's been dumped at the home of a Helping Paws volunteer Notice: Helping Paws office. 465 Virginia, Crystal I^ake, is having a "Spring Sale" on items in our store! Some of his examples of student performance with varying degrees of sugar in their diet is staggering to the •' imagination. Here is an opportunity for parents to join s^lucalurs who characteristically like to blame each other for problems with students both academically and socially and see how factors that once were never considered can affect student per formance. discipline and classroom management It is something recommended for everyone to see and hear to better be able to guide and direct young people to develop to their fullest potential Following Dr Oberg's presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions ana discussion. The program is open to all members of the community at no charge Refreshments will be ser ved I Year $!•.§• In McHenry County Outside McHenry County GET AT AWAY IN STYLE FINE LUGGAGE FOR YOUR SAVINGS McHENRY SAYINGS!
