Brian Wilson, has announced his probable starting lineup and pitching rotation for the 1981 cam paign which will begin Saturday at McCracken Field. The Saturday double dual with Woodstock, Libertyvile, and Zion Benton will have a 10:30 a m starting time, and Wilson's 20 ballplayers have been practicing\daily since the end of Fel prepare for the season Wilson is not too sure about the opposition in the Fox Valley, and he has silent doubts about his pitching staff, but he is sure about his starting lineup and the fact that he will play fun d a m e n t a l b a s e b a l l throughout the season. For starting pitching duties, Wilson will rely on senior Jay Wittemore, senior Jeff McNish and junior Dave Smith, all of whom play other positions when not pitching. Jeff McNish won three and lost one last season for Ken Swanson and has the most experience on the staff Gone are both Tim Kalpperich, who elected the track team over baseball this season, and Bob Zeller, who pitched to a one and four mark last year Zeller decided to sit out the spring season after a gruelling basketball season The Warrior outfield will find senior John Doessel in left. Bob Greve in center and either Jeff McNish. Fritz Larsen or Jay Whittmore in right field Greve, Doessel and McNish are all returning lettermen to the squad. Senior letterman Rob Kalck' will handle third base as well as co-captain duties with Bob Greve. Bob Bryniarski, also a senior letterman, will roam the shortstop position, while Joe Bauml will move from third this season. Da$p Jjfnith, a/big junior, is expected to be a mainstay at first base. The catching chores belong to John Bazan, a junior with no experience on the varsity level. With 20 players out this season, Wilson is excited about the even number of juniors and seniors, and he expects big things for this year and next.
