Cost Of Education Members of the Publicity committee for the School .District 15 referendum have been receiving requests from residents of the school district concerning the cost of education for a McHenry grade school pupil and how this compares with other districts in the county The figures are for the last school year. 1979-80. which were the latest available statistics. These figures were compiled by the regional superin tendent of schools. Ed Hall, and made reference to grade school districts. The list of districts ranging in order of highest cost per pupil operating expense to the lowest is listed below for 1979-1980. District 3. Fox River Grove. $2.088 42; 140, Marengo. 2.074.73; 17, Hawthorn, 2,003 94; 18, Riley. 1,988 90 ; 8, Union, 1,967.85 ; 46. Prairie Grove, 1,953.92; 36. Voters are being asked to vote on a 45 cents increase in the Education fund tax rate limit April 7. Polls are open from 6 a m until 7 p.m. on election day.
